This is one that I've been wanting to give an upgrade ever since Airborne was first shown. (thanks Hasbro for making an extra Airborne so hard to come by!)
Anyway, this one is done as a gift for a longtime friend, who'll be getting it tomorrow. The cool thing about this one is that it's FULLY PLAYABLE! that's right, no painted joints! All the right parts came together on this one, and it's my favorite so far! The only painted parts are the helmet, vest, backpack, kneepads & upper boots. Here's the thread with my previous version from some months ago: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/hissta...Brigade+Custom and here's the recipe. Enjoy! Torso, legs, vest, backpack: Airborne Arms: dvd pack Cobra Commander Feet: Comic pack Gung-Ho Holster, grenades: single card Gung-Ho Belt: Wild Weasel Gun: Marauder Helmet (vintage style): brokenarrowtoys Helmet (modern style): TRU 6-pack |

I absolutely love this! There are only a couple of minor things I would have done differently like use the 25th TF Duke backpack. Can you explain how you handled the head in more detail? I was planning on using a the head off my spare classic SB figure and modding myself.

Actually the helmet is removable. You have a couple options for this. back a few years ago, TRU released a 6-pack called Anti-Venom Task Force. All their helmets were casts of the original Steel Brigade helmet. since then, brokenarrowtoys.com has made casts and sold them (they sell out quick), and they are also in the current TRU Hulk exclusive pack with the Hulkbusters wearing them (3 figures and a hulk - I forget the name of the set.). So, if you don't want to use the vintage head, this way you can just repaint it to original colors and have a removable helmet!
i really like him...however, i like the BH vest better...just adds bulk, which i think looks good...nice job Mr. Clean |

I can see the Resolute Duke's webgear being used for a Steel Brigade custom. Just a suggestion to make it more 'playable'
