Hey all. This is the beginning of a large project i'm working on. I'm building groups of WWII style figures - first Axis Cobras then Allied Joes. The goal is to build a large WWII G.I. Joe dio or dio-story.
These customs are simple, but will probably cost a lot of money since i can't use existing joe bodies (in most cases). I'll be posting more characters in the coming weeks, but please keep in mind these are a work in progress until the final Dio-story. Help: does anyone know of a way to get the cobra sigil on a fig without stickers? Transfers? Stencils? It would be a HUGE help. Thanks!

Good job! love the wwII customs, I gave all my green shirt joes the m1 grands that came with fred in the comic two pack because they look more nostalgic.

nice! If you haven't already you should definitely check out the Joe/Transformers comic inked by Jae Lee a few years back. Set in WWII.
As far as the sigil goes you could try this and see, it's supposed to be decent and since they're model "slide" type decals they would conform to the surface. Testors Decal System |

Quote:
1. Photoshop 2. Just print them w/ an appropriately colored background on plain paper and then cut them out and tape them on. 3. Re-use stickers - take them off and put them on just whoever's being photographed.

cc helmet an tooth pick, but i cut the tip off the tooth pick an tossed it. made it resemble a cylinder, then i dremeled a new point , then dremeled the shaft down till it was skinnier then the point an then cut it. then put a hole in the cc helmet at the direct middle of the helmet an then glued the spike in. painted it, an i bet you 200 bucks in person you'd think it was plastic,an factory made. i tried takin like 400 pics an that was the only one you can see whats goin on!

I'd change the Indy helmets (as well as the Trooper ones) to 21st Century M1940 or 1942 stahlhelme.
Otherwise, Nazi Crimson Guard approves That Pickelhaube is cool, but totally WWI. |

It's a fantastic idea. It would still be nice to see some blue used in the Cobra uniforms too.
