i don't really think of the current batch of retaliation stuff as movie toys. were it not for the rock, especially considering the postponement of the film, this whole line (so far) could just as easily be the next batch of joes. and while the drivers are real bad and i am very opposed in theory to the loss of ANY articulation on newer carded figures, i dig a good bit of what has come out so far.
so that's where i'm coming from collecting wise and for me, the black retaliation cobra commander makes a great leader for my poc/ 30th/ post- 25th cobras. i think aesthetically he fits right in.
just touched him up a little, gave him some silver and a black wash on the parts that looked like armor and a bit of red to break up the black, and a silver dry brush on his helmet.
the armored arm would be cool for a major bludd custom.

The subtle changes really makes this figure look way better! I just picked up one and haven't opened it yet but excited to set him up in a dio with the DG Cobra Officers. Nice work!
i actually just opened up my Retaliation CC right before i seen this thread and was looking him over and felt that something wasnt right about the figure.he looked badass but i just wasnt quite sure that i spent my hard earned $10 wisely enough...until i seen your custom paint job.Now thats awesome!!!
