look dude like i said im not taking away from your figure ,but it seems to me like a bunch of people think you did all the detail work on that figure, it's sweet but, some belt sanding ,a little dremel work grab a deadite figure slap some paint on it, i could have done that hell i might make one at work today and then see if my 10 year old thinks i did all the work and yes i read the whole rules and the threads i just assumed that a gijoe zombie meant a gijoe figure and then build it off of that ,but last time i checked as long as im not full of myself im allowed to have an opinion.....

You really can't blame TTT for his entry. At least not totally.
Ultimately, the admins picked the top 3. If they don't care to enforce their own rules, or have a higher vision of what a "25th feel" is, that's their right. TTT made an awesome custom for sure. Does it follow the methods, styles, or 99% used parts from everyone else? No, of course not. Everyone else who entered seemed to adhere to a similar "accepted" parts usage, while TTT did what he wanted and entered it anyway. Look at TTT's zombie SS. Yes, we may all understand, or know, who the character is...but no one else used an entire deadite fig for the base of their customs. If it were me, I would have sat back and asked myself, "Is this really in the spirit of what this contest is all about?" Honestly, I would have answered myself with - "No, it isn't." Therefore, it should never have been entered. But then again, it didn't get picked, now did it? If TTT claims to "not enter to win, but to share with everyone", then he could have just as easily posted his SS and/or CC in a normal customs thread. To say you don't care about winning, or that you didn't enter to win anyway - is a slap in everyone else's face, and a bold lie. Let's face it, TTT entered what he thought was going to steal the show, and win the contest. Let's not sugar-coat any of this for what it really is. Again, TTT made 2 very cool customs. And while I will not vote on any of the entries, I'm sure he's most likely going to win. Last edited by Obi-Shinobi; 11-06-2008 at 04:28 PM.. |

Could this rule be reworded to allow for more creativity? For example, a figure using Indy arms might be breaking that rule. A figure using a Tri-Gate torso definitely is. How about as long as the scale & articulation match? Note also that the last rule is: Quote:
*We reserve the right to change the rules for any reason at anytime. The contest is for fun and will always be run that way.

I'm sorry you never made the top 3 in contest #1 I'm sorry you never made the top 3 in contest #3 I thought at least 1 of your entries in both those contests would have been in the top 3 or won. I was a little shocked to say the least that you never made it in either. However, your comments have a really sore feeling to them so if that's how you want us to perceive you as a person in general - mission accomplished. Slinging mud at Hisstank staff and myself at this stage might not be the way to go, but hey say whatever you want, we're all listening. If you make customs and expect to win every contest you enter then you're probably setting yourself up for disappointment. I don't feel I need to go further on this as I'd just be repeating myself. You may want to pm DESTRO if you're still having difficulty getting over this, nothing I can say will help. Sorry.
