ok im designing a diorama for my joes and im running into a snag of sorts. i am wanting to make cement style bunker like the german pill boxes from world war 2. i am running into a problem with realistic looking techniques for concrete. has anyone here made any and could shed any light on my predicament?

There's a tutorial explaining how to coat the inside of a cardboard tube with quik-crete. Might come in handy here. Let me see if I can find it.

Maybe try Hirst?
EDIT: Keep in mind they aren't Joe scale though. More 25-30mm scale. Cast, build, then coat in dental plaster.

What about trying some of those textured spray paints? There's got to be one that simulates concrete. Here's some helpful tips for painting concrete.

What about "thin-set"? The stuff you put down before laying tile...

It's actually way easier than you may think. Use the fleckstone spray paint, any color will do... spray it on nice and thick. Then when it's dry, respray it with grey primer.... then dry brush on some medium and dark grey for that warn look. Here's my attempt at a bunker and it turned out schweet my son says ;-)
