Hey Shin...
Yes, I was that person from SSHQ.. Quote:
I have to tell you I'm losing faith in the 1/18 companies!

I am working on a plan to modify the wings so they turn simultaneously and independent from the landing gear.

And yes, I get my plastics from Hobbytown and other stores that carry the styrene sheets and plastics...In my case its a lot of ghetto-engineering and seat of your pants designs

Awesome I was right!
Same here man! I got tired of, "HEY WE ARE PUTTING THIS OUT YES WE WILL WE ARE PUTTING THIS OUT SO CHEAP, BLOWING OUT OUR COMPETITORS", then a year and so later the CEO is let off of the company, NO news on the Phantom, or Fishbed ever really emerge and I even read somewhere that 21st won't be making anything new. BBI is quiet as hell, I think they are moving towards 1/32 for jets unofficially, and keeping warbirds 1/18 and 1/32, and Admiral seems to be the last hope for more 1/18 goodies. Please let us know what you figure out, as the interconnected wing sweep with landing gear actuation bothered the hell out of me as a child. How do you go about using the sheets though? I see people scratch building awesome stuff like missles and whatnot, like you showed on the 1st page, but have no idea how to get from a styrene sheet to a fully completed missle. I am planning on making a randome for a custom I am working on. Now about the plastics...I'm not sure how extensive a line of plastics they carry in your area but they carry a LOT of different styles of beams, tubing, sheets, thicknesses of plastic so I buy different varieties for different situations. Try checking out 'Evergreen' Brand Plastics. There is also a brand called Plastruct. But Evergreen, lucky for me is a local company and I hope to visit their factory some day and personally thank them. - Okay now for the latest news... As you will see below, I managed to design a separate wing operating system in less than an hour. I was originally going to modify the swivel gear system but that proved to be very risky and mostly like not possible because of internal space considerations. I basically went back to childhood when I bought a MiG-23 model with the most BIZARRE wing mechanics I have ever seen. It did not rely on a gear system so I borrowed this idea from it and I really had to draw up from memory how it was done. I found that model online and was about to buy it so I could study the system. As it turns out I didn't have to go there. - The model has been out of production for years. The amazing part was that there were VERY SLIM TOLERANCES and I was able to get this thing to work on the first try. The rear wing sweep even fold back to the Carrier Storage Position of 68 Degrees!!!! The system functions VERY cleanly, virtually flawless. So under project code name of OPERATION: MAGIC FARM...I succeeded in making it function... The Basic Plane itself is complete minus the Paint and Decals... The next things that are on the board are the two GBU-10 Laser Guided bombs, the LANTIRN targeting pod and the General Electric Engines. The Engines are more likely to go first... I know you are busy making this beauty but now I wanna see the F-18 that you built in the past. Got any pics lying around?
Keep up the great work!

the two things that always bothered me about the skystriker as a kid, was that the wings and landing gear were conected! and that the front landing gear was to far back from the nose!. Your skystriker is awsome and love how you fixed the wing landing gear problem! cant wait to see this badboy all finished!

I was looking through your album with the Chopper and the F... 16's? The ones that had a blue and red ribbon at some show. Those were awesome. Good work.

Awesome work, man! That's better quality than what you'd see in museums! I can't wait to see this one completed, the attention to detail is on a whole other level. The F-18, F-16, and the Rescue Hawk are outstanding as well. BBI has nothing on you. The mini-gun is beautiful, I could use a couple of those.
