Hello everyone - this is my first (of hopefully many) custom posts. I've see this custom done here at the Tank before and had been inspired to make my own. The parts breakdown is as follows:
Snake Eyes: v1 Upper Body: Hard Master Lower Body: General Hawk Upper Arms: Ripper Lower Arms: Viper v1 Upper Legs: Storm Shadow v1 Lower Legs: Hard Master Feet: Snake Eyes v2 Web gear: Cobra Officer Since I'm a collector of carded figures, I also decided to make a custom card for this figure. The bubble is adhered to the cardback using Weldbond which dries 100% clear. Thanks for looking! .... |

Thanks guys!
Monk - the card front and back are done in Photoshop. I recreated a "blank" card (obviously using an original 25th style card as a guide) then scanned images as necessary and past them into my doc. The image of Snake Eyes on the front and file card is from the original packaged figure. I erased the grappling gun from the image since my custom wouldn't be packed with one and added different legs from... the Red Ninja card art maybe? The original card art for SEv4 had a lot of his legs obscured. I then printed the files for the both front and back of the card, spray glued them onto both sides of a thin piece of board and cut that out. The bubble is from any Joe figure. I soak it in water for a bit. I then remove all the paper that's left sticking to it from when it was pulled off its original card. Next step is to get a cloth dipped in rubbing alcohol and scrub the rest of the print off the bubble till it's clear. Find a tray that fits the custom with whatever accessories I'm working with, then use Weldbond (which is like glorified Elmers glue) to stick the bubble onto the custom card. Let that set, and it's done. It sounds complicated (maybe?) but it's not that bad. I'd be glad to field any more questions on how it's done in case anything above isn't clear. Thanks again for the kind words guys. It is much appreciated. .... |

I love it. Nice work on both the card and figure. I know the colors are crazy, but I like that version of Snake Eyes
