Alright, I finally finished the last couple of projects I'd been working on. Overall, I'm happy w/ the outcome...but since I'm still a rookie I made a few mistakes. First of all I tried applying a coat when the weather was too humid and cool, so the paint didn't go on or dry very smooth. It's OK since it does give those areas a weathered or battle hardened look.
First up is a Viper inspired Maggot. I'm still looking for a name on this one so if you've got any creative ideas please feel free to pass them along! I don't plan on keeping this one for myself...so if you are remotely interested in adding it to your collection let me know (Blue Prints included). I tried to reuse as many of the original stickers as I could, so not all of them have quite as much adhesive still as I would've liked them to have. Next time I'll have to take more consideration into moving parts as the small gun's paint easily chips off with movement...even with the matte clear coat. This would make a good diorama piece, but I'd be afraid that too much playwear would wreck havoc to the paint in certain places. I also won't bother painting the rolling wheel assemblies next time either as they are a little tight and don't want to free roll as they should.

Next up is my favorite...a A.P.C. Cobra stole for their very own trooper transport use. I found this one without any of the original decals applied, so it was nice and clean and easy to paint. I'm surprised at how well the canopy cover came out. I'm guessing the ridges in the plastic help hold the paint. Anyhow, this is definately one of my favorite vehicles as a kid and I love how this one turned out. Again, I'm in a need of a cool name so if you can think of one please let me know. I had already painted the windows on the cab portion before I found out about Krylon's Stained Glass paint, so they are solid black...but I think it still turned out pretty good.
I tried my hand at some free hand painting and decided to tackle the tools that were molded into the back of the transport. I would've done more, but cold weather was rapidly approaching and it made things really difficult. Some places I got a little sloppy, but again since it was my first attempt at free hand I'm happy with the end results.

I had finished these a month or so ago...my first ever attempt at customizing. I recently applied new Cobra decals however so I thought I'd update the pics. I'm still looking for names for these as well...though I don't really plan on keeping any of these.
I finally was able to find a missile rack and 2 of the 4 missiles...definately gives the jeep that something extra it was sorely lacking. And my "junker" jeep...

Wow that A.P.C. looks great. I would buy one if Hasbro made them.

The Stinger looks real good too. I was never into the Maggot, but it looks better in blue.

Yeah, teh APC with the tool detailing on the back is awesome. That thing reminds of a larger Pinzgauer. I'd love to own one someday.

You can get repro decals for the Maggot off a guy in Mexico named JRuben. I use them for my custom Maggots myself. That way you won't need to reuse old ones.
