I took the trooper from my 25th Legions set and easily reversed him into the trooper from the original 25th five pack.
;) C'mon, like YOU need a recipe for an egg sammich, but I thought it would be fun to post--just in case no one else thought of it yet. Because I know many of you out there like your uniformed troops to appear more. . .uniform. Here's what I used: - Games Workshop spray-on Chaos Black. - Games Workshop standard Chaos Black (for hand-painting small wargames minatures). - Games Workshop Mithril Silver. - Gloss acrylic sealer. Trust me on this, because flat fades the entire figure in comparison to the original. Just remember the reasons for gloss vs. flat. Flat = more realism. Gloss = more "toy". - Finally, you need a fine detail hobby brush. 1. Take the yellow harness off and hang it from a paper clip. Spray-on the Chaos Black and rotate it until it's covered with a thin coating (don't wanna lose the details). 2. Paint the buckles silver to match the original. 3. Prep and then paint the facemask and knife sheath. <---By prepping, I mean you'll have to use alcohol swabs and maybe some fine sanding to take off the factory Hasbro protective layer on the figure. That's the most time-consuming element. 4. Light seal. Let dry and then enjoy! Thereyago! I left the inside of the helmet unpainted. Pics upon request. -PJ Last edited by Obiwanjacoby; 11-03-2007 at 03:14 PM.. |

Okay.
Note I left the hands and inside of the helmet untouched. Note also the mistaken use of flat sealer. :p  The Goo-Gone and alcohol are taking it out, but it's just slow going. -PJ |

I like it. Looks good. The bare hands bother me though.

i'll trade the hands with silver logo trooper, since he's my sniper. bare hands are better so you can feel the trigger. ;)
nice write up. keeps things nice and simple. i might take it a step further and paint the same things on the original 5 pack trooper so its super-consistant. and i actually like the flat sealer! another thing i might try is RC car body spraypaint on the web gear. RC paint stays kinda rubbery so when the lexan bodies flex it doesnt crack. i'll let you know how it works when BBTS sends my legion pack. good work, thanks for the pic.
