Sorry this is much later than I had anticipated posting, but my wife took the lap top with her to her night class before I had a chance to post.
Tonight's custom is Mutt. I did Mutt around Thanksgiving when part choices were limited. Mutt was my first GI Joe figure ever and I really wanted to pay homage to him. Around the time I made him I was at a toy show where a guy sold me the accessories for Mutt. I have the face mask laying in a parts box some where as it looked too big for the 25th scale. I am debating starting with my own critique after I did not get much response to yesterday's Lifeline. I will do it one more time on this one and if others still post then I will continue the good and bad aspects of my figures. The Good 1. Removable knife from sheath on chest. (see recipe) 2. Knee caps are pretty accurate compared to the arah figure. 3. Smooth paint job for the most part. 4. Good use for a Destro Hand 5. Color accurate. The bad 1. Poor choice in parts for right lower arm. If you look closely it looks as though he has some skin disease. In reality it is just a lower Stalker arm. 2. Can't remove the helmet because it is a Gung Ho head so there is no 'head' under it. 3. Cracks in the paint around the inside elbow joints. 4. No vest just painted over the toros to look like the vest. 5. Dusty. No big deal just somethign I could have taken care of before I took the pic. Recipe Head: Gung Ho Torso: Shipwreck Upper arms: Shipwreck Lower right arm: Stalker Lower left arm: Destro Upper legs: Shipwreck Lower legs: Cobra Trouper Helmet: random 25th Gun in holster: random 25th All other accessories: arah I figured I would get this posted in hopes of wave 10 hitting this weekend. Tomorrow a GI Joe traitor... not the first time he has gone bad... |

Given the date in which you made it and what was available to you, I think you did a great job. The shoulder detail is nice as is the left arm. Would love to see a shot with the mask. Good work.

well, I like it. It seems to capture more of the essence of the ARAH Mutt more than the one Hasbro is producing. Good work!

You made a great job on this one. All the details you put into it like the repainted chest to look like a vest, the removable knife from sheath and the left hand glove makes him stand out from other recent Mutt custom figures. My only gripe about it is your head choice for it. It's very Mutt unlike. Sure there isn't any current head that fits for him but you could have used a CP Hawk or Duke head with sculpted mustache. It would have made it look even better. That's my 2¢ on this one.
