Looks good Shogi, I really like the visor/binoculars.
Just looked at the pic again you did a killer job painting Ace's head My exact words were: Holy Shit! I can't believe thats Ace's head. Wheeljaxx was that the member who casted some visors and was selling them? Shogi can you post a link to his visor thread? Last edited by SNAKE EYES; 08-17-2008 at 11:53 PM.. |

Shogi,
That is a cool custom. Was wondering what type of paint you use? I've been using some craft paint that looks good on most of these surfaces, but sort of makes a mess in the joints. The paint will scrape off in those regions as the figure is posed. Does the Tamiya or Testors model master acrylic also do this? PF |

Good work. Steeler is another figure that never gets the respect he deserves.
He's a vet JOE and he never even made like Tiger Force, or Slaughter's Marauder's...He's like an old school armored division guy, and he's never made a special unit? But Tripwire (and nothing against TW) makes Tiger Force? But Steeler just chills out in semi-anonymity. PS- nice use of the ever present Wild Bill figures for parts. Trust me, I screwed up on these eyes I've done better on other Ace heads. I used a toothpick with the end cut down at an angle to do a fine line. If I could invent a pen that makes a razor thin line using acrylic paint, I'd be in heaven!

Yeah, I was thinking that also. Was just repainting Grunt's(25th Flash) head and those eyebrows and eye details are the toughest! Good idea to use a toothpick, I was going out to look for a 10/0 brush. But a lot of those cheap brushes really won't hold a lot of paint, and won't last long either. Will look for some better paint as well.
