i was worried about yellow too. i gave them almost complete creative control. they picked the colors, i helped them pick the parts to paint. i wanted to paint the bat vamp wheels yellow for example but he insisted they had to be black. who am i to argue with a 4 yr old so black they are. he's way to young to get stickers on right so i do that for him and i let him pick some out from the various sticker sheets i have left over. he picked the color of the cobra symbols for example. i'm very glad he has good taste as he choose well
btw, the cobra symbol sticker sheet from reprolabels is very nice. good selection of sticker sizes and colors but a bit expensive for what you get really. for the cost, i was expecting abotu twice as many stickers. they will come in handy for other customs we do though. fyi, i have an empty gi joe 5 pack (that had the sound box) and we keep all our sticker sheets in this.

Is that storm shadow letting a bat drive him around? seems a little precarious for a ninja master.
great job, both on the work and in getting your kids involved. |

ok, we wrapped up most of the work on the artic hiss. i still have a white wash to do but we didn't have much to choose from in paint choices since we cut our customs budget and had to shop from what we have.
the funyn and hard part was my little one was holding the end of a paint brush while i moved it around to get the blue highlights. it's a tedious process and at times frustrating but he enjoyed it so you keep going. the only draw back was, we don't have blue version of hiss stickers. that would have topped it off nicely.

for good measure we tossed a ram cycle into the mix. i have a few left over from buying flight pods and i can't seem to sell these off so we painted one to see hwo hard it would be. turns out to be easy.
the side car panel is still in our paint parts bin. we overlooked this part and have to paint it still. i was told our next one would be red (crimson guard) and yellow/black (bat). the only drawback to doing these project with my kids is the youngest now brings all kinds of toys to me telling me we have to paint them.

you know this is cool. I think this is the best "feel good" thread on the tank.

thanks. it's much more enjoyable to collect with my kids than it would be for myself. we actually like our custom vehicles more than the stock ones too.
lately i've been trying to restrain the desire to prepaint more of these simply becuase soo many vehicles are coming in the next year and i'm sure we are going to do the same with many of them. maybe not the rattle/conquest but the other waves for sure.
