Yeah, I already did 27 Gi Joe 25th custom figures using the same paint. Anyone have suggestions on a better brand. All I've got is Americana Acrylic paint. It dries fast but chips easily.

i think a lot of people use either Tamiya or Testors. they seem to be the 2 names that pop up the most often amongst people here.

Two quick suggestions for you. First, resize and crop your pics before posting. When you leave the pics that large, it shows every single possible flaw and uncropped it detracts from the overall package. In this case, the strokes in your paint are very evident, and if the pic was resized it would not be so clear.
The other is that instead of brushing on your basecoat, try spraying the basecoat using either Krylon or Tamiya sprays. You'll dodge the strokes in your base, and give a better "primer" for the camo and details. The design for Hit & Run is pretty good, but you may want to hunt down some kind of climbing harness. You've hit all the bases on the iconic details of the original figure except for that, and with that you'd have 100% win. The Backblast helmet works well for Hit & Run, and I'd even considered it a while back until I sculpted my own. Oh, and Pathfinder's upper arms are backwards. |
