First up is Chuckles. I copied this off of everyone else. I did modify the sleeves somewhat so that he doesn't look like he is wearing the exact same shirt as Shipwreck. The head is Aloysha's "Guy Next Door" and the holster is made from one of the straps from Snake Eyes' webgear, Shipwreck's holster, and some masking tape for the vertical strap. The legs are also from SE with the straps and pouches sanded off with a sanding stick. I was going to go all out switch the knife holster for a machete, but the machete was too long.
Next is Steel Brigade, which I ripped off everyone else as well. It is a combination of those two hideous comic pack figures, Duke and Cobra Commander with Cobra trooper lower legs for the knee pads. The helmet is from Aloysha again. All guns are from Marauder John. Last edited by cyclonus8; 05-22-2008 at 02:15 AM.. |

Here is one that Hasbro definitely won't make.
Major Barrage is made from the original figure's (thanks again slim19722) head, arms, and vest. You probably can't tell from my terrible pics, but the chest isn't Roadblock. It's Gung-Ho with a lot of milliputty to make a tanktop. The legs, are from Ace, to give him some height. The arms' don't really fit too well with the torso. I had to do a lot of sanding. I also had to putty the neck and shoulder cracks because they just didn't fit right anymore. I need to learn to take better pics! I think he needs dog tags. Are there any toy lines out there that have removable dog tags? I think the ones from Major Bludd look terrible. After this guy, I need to get a new Gung Ho and Ace. Any offers? .... Now, I'm not gonna be happy, untill I make a Steel Brigade for myself. I'm pretty sure the local store still has some of those two-packs....
Those all look great. My suggestion for dog tags would be to use some thin styrene sheet (.010" sheet is thinner than a business card) for the tags themselves, and use some silver elastic thread from the crafts section for the chain. The stuff I got wal-mart looks chrome. |
