scared of the Convention 25th molds

What I am the most scared of with the now permanent use of the 25th molds is:

1) Hasbro wont let The Club use the active molds currently being used, which means their limited to 25th and ROC bodies. (so no knife sheaths, or cool gear like in the POC or Resolute figs?)

2) us customizes are used to cracking 25th style bodies and making ingenious Body Mixes, but is the club ?(or china for that matter, crummy production means delays in the set, which means We wont see the finished product until the last minute)?

meaning rather than seeing cool amalgamations of bodies like they did with the o-ring.. we may see entire torso/ arm parts reused. (and will they look good repainted?)

3) the club in the past has had no problem making new molds for exclusive heads, but what about the particular VESTS and HELMETS that Hasbro has used to cover up reused bodies to make a new figure? Will we see unique gear or just repainted 25th bodies?

That being said, so far Lanny has come up with some pretty cool set concepts in the past (headhunters, Cobras most wanted, Tanks for the memories) I just really hope the figure parts Hasbro lets him play around with match his concept skills.

I wanted to say something along these lines in one of the other convention set threads. I am by no means an aficionado of the club and con like yourself so there was no way I'd be able to express my concerns as eloquently as you did here.

It seems most people are hoping for 15 - 20 highly sought after characters with all new tooling. Sadly this is not going to happen for the reasons you outlined above.

I share your fears as well for this set. Then i think about the Argen 7 figures they did 2 years ago. I thought the Crimson Strike team was ok... but the Joe offerings were an inspired choice, with even fewer part options available at the time then they will have for this year.

This is the first year for the new modern era standard and I have no doubt they will have some unique and surprisingly original options for us attendees. I am salivating at the possibilities and I'm eagerly awaiting the first glimpses!

How did those Argen guys turn out?
How were the paint apps?
I've never seen a set in person, I wanted to get the 3 pack, I still might, ebay prices have been kinda steep as of late.

Mine are excellent! Some of the eyes are a bit wonky but that's nothing new.

well the Argen 7 figs looked ok with the camo paint scemes. but were limited with the accessories that the 25th characters had.

meaning characters had to mirror or be equipped with already established character gear.

hopefully the ROC molds offer some freedom of creation...

At the Con Rountable, Lanny illustrated his process of designing the con sets..

I trust his methods. Im just skitty on the resources that Hasbro will give him to work with.

Like i said, the Club most likely wont foot the bill for brand new FULL molds, but just parts (and usually if Hasbro can utilize them later)

Aside from heads, aren't there enough arms, legs, and torsos out there to work with?

They look beautiful. Some of the best paint aps I've seen on a fig in that scale. Manleh and Starduster are a little on the bright side, but you barely notice the reuse of parts. Some were pretty clever (Hawk w/a tan and red hair really looks like a whole other guy).

The set I suggested (Oktober Guard versus IGs) could mostly use existing parts, at least for the action figures. Some would need new heads and Horrorshow would at least need a new head and torso and/or vest to look accurate, but a lot could be kitbashed.

Colonel Brekov-Red Star repaint
Daina-Lady J repaint with new head
Schrage-serviceable body with Rock & Roll's bullet straps and new head
Stormavik-same thing, could use Lt. Stone or a Flint head
Horrorshow-could probably use a ROC Heavy Duty body with new head and vest or new torso entirely
Dragonsky-f*ck it, they could repaint Blowtorch
Voltar-IG body with new head
Ferret-I've seen some kitbashes here that work very well
Wild Boar-same
Annihilator-Matt Trakker body with Lamprey head
