I finally got all the pics. from my trip to the K.C. Convention transphered around so I can post them.
It was quite the experience for me and my oldest son, Mason. I think my wife and mom even enjoyed it more than they expected to. My youngest, Nathaniel, didn't know what to think untill he discovered the play table and after that it was almost impossible to get him away. We made, to us, a pretty good haul. I even managed to find a Helix when we stoped at a Target near our hotel. (they don't seem to be too rare, but I'd never seen one so I grabbed it up) I think we were at a hotell (The American Inn, just a bit past the river on N-35) with someone else who was going/had been to the con. also, 'cuz I say what looked like the makings of a Snake-Eyes costume in the back of their vehicle one evening when we parked for the night. At any rate, here's some pics. I know they've been seen already, but I told Tank Driver I'd post them when I got them ready, so... Last edited by SandmanXIII; 05-02-2010 at 10:12 PM.. |

Glad you had a good time - I had a great time as well. More Tankers should go to this!

Here's whet we managed to get. All but the Helix was from the Convention. The Kitten in the 12" Motorcycle wasn't ofcourse, but the bike was. It's for my youngest as he is obsesed w/ Motorcycles.
The guy w/ Serpentor's tail is for him aswell. It's his 1st. "Joe". My oldest got the Asp and one of the Thunder Machines, and the Combat Heroes are what they gave the kids when we paid to enter. Last edited by SandmanXIII; 05-02-2010 at 10:11 PM.. |

Great pics. Thanks for sharing them. I think a lot of folks tend to leave out all of the other aspects of the con beyond the exclusives and new products. As a father, I like to see that it is a family oriented event for folks of all ages. These are the first pics I've seen showing a lot of this stuff. Thanks.

Hey, No problem. I just posted everything that actually came out.
Mostly 'cuz it was my 1st. time and I was just hyped about the whole thing. My oldest loved it and I wanted to show that, and my youngest eventually got into it too. I think it was an extreme level of foresight on the convention staff's part to include the play table (even if it was done to entise buyers [that's just good "advertising"]) it realy made a point to show that this was for kids too and not just obsessive collector types (nothing wrong w/ tose either) |

Looks awesome. Maybe someday one will be in an area close enough for my son and I to go.
