WELL, AND HERE IT IS, THE ANNUAL REPORT.
1) THE FRIENDS Much more than the toys, much more than the con itself. were the friends. getting to finally see the people you chat with all the time. Not to mention all the new friends you make along thew way.... I didnt have as much cash as I needed, thanks to being stupid and leaving my money home. but people from all different boards poured out support (and jokes,.. thank you Mike & Gary!)for me.. and made this the best con ever! oh and TMThick...... thanks! (coolest guy at the con!) 2) New Blood Thanks to the Movie, there were SO many new attendees, both young kids who has never seen Joe before, and older fans who had forgotten..... Just seeing the enthusiasm on the children's faces, and the thrill of the adults talking about their old experiences with joe as a kid. It gives us hope that G.I.Joe will Live on... 3) Events There was a lot more to do inside the con. most of us stayed busy with the roundtables, seminars and the customizing classes. 4) BIG LOB Love him or hate him, he is one of those few figures that we never got from the originals (along with Pythona, Billy, and Dr. Venom) and considering we ARE getting Dr. Venom as well.. it is a refreshing Victory for all the lobbying (pun intended) Ive been doing for him to come out. It also proves that the Club and Hasbro DO listen to us,.. and at least try to appease us Joe fans. 5) Club Staff as usual were very friendly and accommodating.. even to the most nerdy and geeky among us. They never hesitated to stop and chat with us, or take pictures, even hang out with fans at the bar. It shows those names we see on the boards are human, and do listen. 6) Con DInner much better than the last two years. Barbecued Beef brisket, Grilled chicken, Salad, apple Brown betty.... the dreaded Beans and Pulled pork made a re-appearance,... but it actually wasnt that bad. 7) Fritzs DUDE, THEY DELIVERED YOUR FOOD ON A FREAKEN TOY TRAIN ATTACHED TO THE CEILING!!!! AND DROPPED IT DOWN TO YOUR TABLE!!!!!!!! COOLEST RESTAURANT EVER! 8) The Lanard Warehouse Granted it wasn't officially part of Joecon, but since it was in Kansas city, a bunch of us got to go into the warehouse.... thanks to chuckles, (who has bought so much form them, they know him on a first name basis!) and ....damn! I almost spent my cash BEFORE Joecon!!! But we had so much fun there, and hanging out at Taco Bell afterward. 9) Hasbro It was so cool not just to actually get to talk to the guys who sell you your Joe fix, but to randomly chit chat about ANYTHING. those guys are funny! and have no problem talking to joe fans... It also feels good that they do listen to us,.. and know what we want... It also helps that for them, it isnt just a job, most of them are joe fans as well. .....and they got some damned cool stuff coming down the pipeline for us as well! 10) Dealers room I guess what is cool for me, is after 4 cons under my belt, I know a lot of the dealers personally. Marauder John, Zombieguide, Alyosha, Nomad, that Bald dude from Armageddon toys (just messin with ya, man), so its more than just some corporation trying to sell you stuff, but friends hooking up another friend with goods! 11) Customs THEY WERE AWESOME this year!!! from A.W.A.C. s awesome terrordrome construction site, to Woodhouse's custom of a Manimal and Lobottomax!!! awesome!

I don't know if this is the place to ask, but you guys were there...
Are the Big Lob and Dr. Venom "O" ring, or modern era styled? What about the adventure team sets?

Im not sure, I was too busy yelling "In your face' to all the people who gave me crap for liking Big Lob!!!!
Big Lob's picture was a photoshop mock up, but it appeared O-ring. However, news at the club's roundtable said that a lot of O-ring molds were destryed by Hasbro due to the expence of housing them,.. without using them. (the Cobra EEL v. 1 was confirmed destroyed) so Big Lob may come out as a 25th mold. Dr. Venom & the adventure tam, however ARE 25th,. because the molds they were gonna use were horrid.

also, FP was able to save a bunch of the molds but not all. Also keep in mind that Hasbro destroyed everything not used within the past 10 years so between the 2 there is a good amount left. that being said ARAH days are very finite now...

20 years to get a Big Lob figure and it's O-Ring? Ugh. I hope we can get a 25th style down the road.

I'm going to do my best to make it to next year's JoeCon.
If it came down to between either attending a BotCon or a JoeCon It wouldn't be a tough decision for me. I think I'd get more out of the JoeCon |

more than likely. I know a few guys who have done both and say Joe though smaller is a lot more fun. not to kiss ass but joe fans are a lot more chill and fun to be around....but I could be biased.....

I don't think you're biased at all. I know my share of toy robot people much like myself and there's only a handful I would ever have any interest to hang out with.
