The Canadian Joe Club puts on the Canadian Joecon and they do up their own exclusives. They had an awesome set this year. A chrome HISS (called the H.A.T.E. Tank), a repainted armadillo and 3 figures: they created a Backstop (the only canadian Joe) and 2 new characters that they created.

I thought about this last night and really sort of frosted my wienie.
So we got a "Ninja Ku" and "Pilot Glenda" but they were refered to as Undercover Scarlett and Black Storm Shadow. Then they release these guys but they are under the Argen 7 names. Why couldn't they do that for the other two figures when they were meant to represent these two figures? |

That's right! ONly double would be stupid. Should be triple or more. Business is business...you have to attend and pay hotel/travel costs. Its a service to resell them to the highest bidder.

Why couldn't they do that for the other two figures when they were meant to represent these two figures? I know you're talking about the names and if the Club could use the Argen names, why couldn't Hasbro. I think it's a case of Hasbro not wanting to. I think it's a case of Hasbro not wanting to confuse the general public and add new characters to the ME line (note, I said 25th/ME line) and I mean new named characters, not generic troopers. Remember, the Argen 7 are really just a collector's knowledge kind of thing. I'd never heard of 'em until I started hanging out here. So putting stuff out on the retail shelves with the Argen 7 names really doesn't make much sense. The Club International Teams are meant as items for the collectors, not general public. The only ones that KNEW they were meant to represent the two Argen figures would have been fans, and some fans around here don't know about the Argen 7. So anyone wandering the store aisles would have seen Scarlett in pilot gear, they wouldn't have known who Glenda was. Adding the filename was a nod to the fans who knew, an easter egg. Same with SS and Ninja-Ku, most people would think it's some kind of secret ninja thing.

IIRC, don't you have to have bought the con Strike Team set in the first place to even be able to get the International Team sets?

Man... these international figures are a total faliure, they're just horrible, except Blades... We get all these colorful ... Argen 7 ... but no "Cobra de Aço", no "Hunter" ??? This year the joe club seems to have done all the wrong choices... from the old crimson strike team... to these strange painted Argen 7... look really like they took the easy way...not the best way... not to mention the blue Starduster.... awful, just awful. I am a brazilian collector and completist (kind of)... I have all the 3 3/4 joes released in Brazil and USA (minus the ROC, that didn´t arrive for me yet), including the con exclusives... but this time around I don´t feel nothing for these exclusives but disapointment... I will not pay for them high prices on ebay.. like I was willing to do last year.

I for one, really would love to get my hands on the international set! Does the club offer these in their store after the con if there is any left?

They do but I wouldn't expect them to be available as they most likely will sell out.

Hopefully, they continue the International characters in future conventions or club exclusives. I would love to have a Hunter, Cobra de Aco, Gaucho, Jammer, Red Shadows and any others.
