Update on the con sets, I called today to see if there would be any additional con sets available at the con to purchase, and they said they weren't sure there'd be any left after they process the last of the late registrations that went through this weekend. Past history is not going to factor into this con set. They've never made so few sets before, they're 25th anniversary figures, and if they're not sold out already, they'll be sold out by early Friday morning at the latest which has NEVER happened before. That being said, the set is expensive enough as it is, so it's not like it's going to double in price, but individual figures like Baroness and the twins will go for crazy amounts on ebay. I wouldn't be surprised at $50 each prices on these. |

I wish I could make it to that, but we've got so much going on this summer it's insane, I will have a slave Baroness outfit soon.. It's kind of like Slave Leia, but Baroness instead ^^

It was said at one point on the MC forums that the Quarrel figure is not in the con set. Maybe this is misdirection. But when I bought mine off of taobao, the seller said it was from a canceled comic pack with a storm shadow, so who knows. She's an awesome Quarrel figure though and I hope they eventually do make her so that everyone can get one.

Given the international theme, I would hope it would be quarrel Scarlett. But she's such a nice figure, I'd wish we'd get her at regular release so you don't have to pay $50 for her.

It is all about the idiots setting the price. Last year there were con only sets that started going up on ebay the Thursday night of the con for twice the price. They sat there for a couple hours and then one damned fool bought em, and then a couple more fools followed. If it wasn't for these morons, the prices would have settled into a more reasonable 20-30% of con price value.
Seriously, if you think with no buyers at all up to that point, you're going to miss these things if you aren't the first buyer, or that the price will sky rocket higher, you're just an idiot and you ruin it for everyone else who's trying to get these things at a decent price. |

Hey, I've got an extra set that I'll be selling with the extra free item, plus a first 100 label pin, plus each of the exclusives, but over cost (including taxes) I would want about $200 for shipping, and my time. That is still a deal, and I can guarantee one of each of the limited 300 count exlusives, plus you get the full con set without attending.

BUSINESS RULE #1 PROFIT. If your attending the show and you want to recoup your losses for having to attend so far from home...it is to sell...and to make money to offset any expenses. It is that simple. Ebay is the way and the demand should set the price...not some 20%-30% "reasonable" fee. If the demand wasn't so high, do you think the sets would even be made? Also, notice ho the sets were reduced? They were not even being sold out. As for some people, idiots buy them for way over price b/c they are idiots. If an item is not sold out, then that is there punishment for paying well over the price. As for the lapel pin...you gotta pay b/c you failed to be the first 100. It is all abou timing. Also, I look at it as stimulating the economy. Someone with more money pays me, it helps out ebay, paypal, and the GIJOE club...not to mention the Hyatt, Kansas City tourism, and whatever else we get into out there. So there i smy peace!!! I have helped many other business by providing my business. Just a deep thought for ya on that. Go Joe and to those ebayers selling these items cheap....you are the idiots my friends...just think how much more you could make. Then again...it may be the club itself making it appear to be overloaded on some items so peopel won't put them on ebay. Remember last year. Mr. Sausage said that he needs Ebay and it wouldn't be successful without it. And yes...he said it.

We have approximately 85 Crimson Strike Team sets (American Hero package) and 130 Eight Legs of Danger sets (General's package). All sets are first come, first served.

I'm hoping someone who is going can/will help me out.
MC stated on their website that they cleaned out their warehouse of exclusives that have been sitting around. Some are worse off than others. But they are going to sell them in at deep discounts. I was hoping that someone could keep an eye out for the 2006 Sgt Slaughter and Renegades three packs and possibly pick them up for me if they have them. Any takers? |
