Hello Everyone. I am fortunate enough this year to be able to attend the Convention coming up in April/May. Since I have yet to go to a show, my wife and I were trying to decide when to fly in...Wed Night or Thurs Night. Does the floor open up on Friday or Saturday? I saw Gen Public on Saturday, but how do you get access to attend on Friday. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Dan

I think you have to pre-register for the whole weekend to attend Friday. The only reason to fly in Wednesday would be if you were going to attend any of the tours or classes on Thursday. If you're not going to attend any of those, then show up Thursday for pre-registration pick up and attend the show on Friday

Looks like we're driving up on Friday the 30th so we can hit the floor Saturday via the General Admission tickets ($12.00 at the door).

yEAH.. I KNOW PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF HEARING ME TALK ABOUT THIS....
but there is WAY more about Joecon that you're missing. Joecon isnt like the typical "cons" where theres a dealers room and thats it. 1) flying in for the general admission means.. thats it... you get general admission.... to the dealers room. you miss: a) the seminars with guests b) talking directly to Hasbro designers c) the Con awards dinner, and casino night d) the tour of Hasbro offices e) early access to signings, and the Club store f) any official after hours activities, and possibly unofficial ones, like hanging out with hisstank folks g) the chance to buy exclusives (they sell out pretty fast, usually by saturday, cause the pre registered folks and dealers get first crack) h) no free con exclusive (only pre registered folks get one) I recommend , if you can afford it, pre registering (that way your sets and exclusive access is assured) flying in wednesday night, ot thursday afternoon, and enjoying the entire con experience... with full attendee status: a) you get into the dealers room early on friday,.. and ONLY THE PRE REGISTERED CAN GET IN b) you also have access to the dealers room one or two hours earlier than general admission c) you're first in line for signings or exclusives d) you get to attend all the seminars, and talk to guests, hasbro, and club personnel personally e) if you register NOW, you still might make it to the Hasbro tour (on friday) f) you get to meet new people and friends you've been talking to on the Tank or other joe sites, and hang out with them, both before, during and after the con. g) you can win free stuff at bingo during the Awards dinner and casino night, also you can use your winnings to win auctions for other cool stuff. ...cause quite frankly, if you're just going to by toys... youre missing out... traveling all the way to joecon to visit JUST the dealer's room.. is like traveling all the way to Toys R us... Just to buy gum out of the gumball machine outside.

Why do you have to register to participate in the unofficial after-hours activities. Just curious - because I think A-tat and I are very likely to either start and/or crash some unofficial activities.
Then again, if you register does that make unoffical ones then official. the dealers room usually shuts down at 4-5 pm... most unoffical stuff happens WAY after that, long after most day attendees have gone home. for instance: the annual after registration dinner ... happens after registration on thursday. usually around 8-9 or so... but if you're a day attendee,.. you wouldn't be there in the first place Crappy Figure Brigate meeting is after The Awards dinner...also around 9ish the trip to the Lanard warehouse we did last year happend thursday MORNING, before a lot of people even flew in. ...but if you're staying in the hotel or live in the area, (or plan on hanging around for an extra 6-7 hours or so) thats a different story...

I have been debating on whether or not to pre-register. I don't have any interest in the con-set, but i don't want to miss out on any Modern Era items I may be able to grab. I live locally (well 30 minutes south) and want to be able to hang out with some Tankers while they are in my neck of the woods.
Anyone interested in a con set that can't go the the con? Cause then I would definately pre-reg.
