I set up there every year, and it's a decent local show. I consider any show "good" if I can find something for my vintage collection which has been "complete" for several years now. As a vendor, it's always been a good show, but the last two years especially so.

Do many dealers carry modern era Joes or any other types of products? Like I said I'm curious to check it out but it's a 6 hour drive for me so I'm wanting to make sure I'll find some goodies for my collection.

I am local, so hit them up from time to time. Some years are better than others. Not sure if it is big enough to warrant a 6 hour drive unless you make a day out of the other things to do around here.

I found more stuff at last year's show than I have in years past. I actually spent more than I bargained on spending at one booth compared to what I had budgeted for the entire show.
There was a booth with some guys selling nice carded vintage & box/vehicle vintage combos. I'm looking forward to this year's show as well. I am curious what the turnout will be since it is scheduled so close to JoeCon. I can't afford to attend JoeCon in Colorado so this show is a must for me.

As it stands, I currently plan to set up this year. That MAY change due to obligations for the national show. As I said, there is usually enough stuff to make it worthwhile.
As for driving from Joplin, I'd gamble more on one of the Tulsa shows. On the other hand, it is straight down 44 to 35, and then South to Dallas, so an easy drive. If you make it an overnight trip, there are enough local places to go shop that it will make it worth your while. Dallas Vintage Toys, DFW Vintage Toys, The Lost Toys, Duncanville Bookstore, etc... |

I've been to Dallas numerous times including for Botcon 2012 but never really had done any toy searching there so if I do decide to go I'll definitely try and do some of those as well, to bad the Rangers aren't in town that weekend.

Hey guys,
Sorry for the delay in getting the event posted to Hisstank.com. Been busy managing this and a 5k/10k run coming later this month. Yeah, the timing sucks that we're right before JoeCon, but we booked our slot last year, not knowing what date they'd be going for. Is a real crapshoot. Dealers really vary from year to year. However, we DO try and recruit vendors with different offerings so it's not too heavy on one particular era or style. Last year, though, I thought we did pretty good with RAH Joes (both vintage and new). If you're a dealer looking to set up or a Joehead who's looking for a fun show to attend (put on by collectors for collectors), please check us out. Our website is DFW GI Joe and Action Figure Show 2016 and our facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/DFW-GI-Joe-...4738537970730/ Hope to see yall there... Greg |
