We were told at the club that the peg portion on the mold for the jetpack was going to be retooled for the smaller holes in the backs of the 25th Cobras. Now, we got '07 convention jet pack Joes with oldskool packs, but what of the pegs on the back? Are they large, or small? Surely a retool can't be done that quickly. . .can it? Does this mean the proto 25th Air-Trooper's pack is glued on or something? These are the things that keep me awake at night. -PJ Last edited by Obiwanjacoby; 09-28-2007 at 01:18 AM.. |

I am sure these were planned well in advance for any retooling neccessary, thus why we have them now. you are going to drive yourself crazy thinking to hard about these things. the obvious answer is always the best, and usually turns out to be correct. |

OK FOLKS!!!!!!!
This is Kingofpain your roving reporter, reporting on the first day of the Joe con. first off, I have to apologise, My wingman forgot to charge his digital Camera, so Pics will have to wait until the morning. ok,. the Hotel is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its like walking in the Death Star!!!!!!!!!!! The Vertigo was crazy ( I guess it doesnt help to be on the 34th floor!) when comming in, the staff were very friendly, (dispite the fact several hundres wierdoes withtoys were in the lobby) Registration went pretty smoothly this year, they split up the line alphabetically. However, the Specail items line was rediculous (I was in the line for an hour!) People were friendly, and I immediately reconnected with people I saw last year. now for the news you've been looking for..... the Con sets look better in person than on the website! no flaws so far, as you may already know the free vehicle was a rerelease of the VAPM jeep released in the 2002 line. (its ok,..dont really like the front grill, looks like a "road Warrior" vehicle), and the extra figures along with piper was the JUMP set with Grand Slam and Starduster (looks great!)., Obviously, the "Tanks for the memories" vehicle is two repainted Mauler Tanks (Green for G.I.Joe, with a New Steeler; (looks ok, but has a recolored Low Light II mask instead of his old helmet and visor) and Blue with cobra segils or cobra, with a repainted Rip-It). regular release figures were available at the Club desk, for NON SCALPER PRICES!!!!!!!!! (which was good, picked up some DTC snow Serpents, another viper pit set, and the Joe 25th boxed set). Unfortunetly, ALL the wave 2 figures, loose or otherwise, Sold out before I got there (we're gonna find the guy who bought them all, and beat him about his kneecaps, Nancy Kerrigan style!), but they had plenty of silver head Pimp daddy destros, and the newer sign=ma six figures. People were buying pipers 3 and 4 at a time, so Im not sure if theyre gonna last till saturday. well, Its 5 am, thats al for now,.. Ill post again around noonish, (mainly cause I ceep getting the looks of "How the hell are you still awake?" I told you guys Im an insomniac!!!!)

The Crimson Guard is the only New Figure for the 25th line that is out at the Hasbro booth. There is a Prototype Board for Snow Job but no figure yet.

I'm so hoping they have some of the Cobra tanks left to sell in the club store after the convention is over. I'd pick one up off eBay, but since they aren't shipping until Thanksgiving I'd rather buy directly rom the club or from someone I know and trust.
Would like the S6 Parachute figure too, but I'm sure that one will sell out long before the convention is over.

The CG looks way better than expected in these news pictures.
Should we expect more figures to be shown throughout the day, or possibly tomorrow? What is considered "prime-time" at the convention? |
