Well, it's been a long time coming. I've finally finished the office.
My wife said a few years ago she didn't want me to do shelves in the office and that I could do the glass cases and art so here we are. My Joe room is at least a year or two out from being complete so I thought I would do this in baby steps. The "Sound Eyes" print is by artist David Choe and is one of my all-time favorite images. I'm a non-toy guy and a Huge fan of David Michael Beck's work so I bought the original art for the WOTC store display. The comic book art is from Marvel issue #66 and shows a good pose of Storm Shadow and the gang. Up top is the cover art for one of the PAINT 'N' MARKER books. The Marine is by George Woodbridge and is the Pre-Production art for the Dress Blues GUNG-HO and has a pretty cool story behind it (maybe one day I'll post the story when I have the time). The Maniac Art is from Wayne Luther and is my Favorite piece I own. The pack-in art from Will Meugniot is a pretty cool piece IMHO. The cases are every (well, a few are buried in the Joe Room and I have to acquire a few that I didn't know I didn't have but I've left spots for them to go right in) U.S. figure from 1982-2000 displayed on acrylic risers. Their weapons are also in the cases under the stairs in individual baggies. Again, I'll show the loft area and Joe Room once I get it done which could be awhile. Take care, John Last edited by kiddreams; 06-20-2021 at 02:30 PM.. |

I would love to have some of Will's work. That would be one of my favorite pieces.
About that script I am surprised no one made the obvious Power Ranger overtones. Two giant mechs fighting each other... very Zord like and also very typical of Bozigian to be super competitive. Power Rangers ruled toy shelves in the 90's. I imagine we would have seen Juggernaut and Serpentor "Zords" on shelves if this movie had been greenlit. Back to your office. Very nice pieces and well presented. Something I would like to do myself one day.

It looks like Spirit, Lady Jane (I wonder why the name change), and Joe would have been primary characters in the film (or at least this scene).
John, can you discuss your role/involvement in this project? |

Well, I had no role in this project. I am just a collector who enjoys everything GIJOE. My passion within Joe is collecting artwork and the like along with sealed non-toy items from 1982-1994.
I haven't updated this in a long time but here is an old link to some of the items I do collect: GIJOE015.jpg Photo by kiddreams | Photobucket My joe room is an absolute mess and you can barely walk in the attic. It's just overflowing and that's why I started downsizing the collection a bit. Last edited by kiddreams; 08-23-2015 at 09:42 AM.. |
