here are a couple shelves I made to display my open figures. I just got a 2' X 2' piece of 5/8ths or so plywood, 2 1/2" by 2' pieces of wood and glued them all together, then painted. I think it turned out pretty good. I am going to need another one once the Retalliation figures come out though. The other pic is inside the closet in my office for my carded figures.
Update: I added plexiglass to the front of the shelves to make it dust proof Added pics of my weapons display. Just an empty frame with white foam board on the back and the weapons hot glued on. Touch it or click on it to go to the full size Last edited by CyberJerry; 11-03-2012 at 06:10 PM.. |

Great work. How much did you spend on wood and supplies?

Thanks guys, less than $30 for both. I just used a tube of liquid nails to hold them together. It did take a while since the glue had to dry each time.

Liqui nails is an amazing adhesive. it's crazy how strong a hold that stuff will make on wood.

They look great, and thanks for the dimensions - I think I will make one sometime. What type of paint did you use?
I'd be nervous about the whole thing being nail/screw free though. I'll have to put a couple screws in each corner at least.

Looks good. How are those comics framed? Are they matted? Stock frame or did you have them custom made?
Thanks |

1/2 price at hobby lobby. I just took the picture that came in the frame and flipped it over using the all white side. Centered the comic on it and put the back on. It's thicker paper do you can't see the picture thru it so it works good. The heaviest part of the shelves is the back but the 2 1/2" pieces are really light and 7 -8 figures don't weigh enough to matter either. I just used the kind of paint you use for baseboards and door frames.
