Here's our completed Ikea wall display.
I do like the Detolf that folks show on this board, but the issue is that it has too few shelves and is too square, taking up too much room... but then again, depends on what you display. And I have seen it collapse under the weight of a bunch of Hasbro Marvel Legends (my son has one detolf in his room). We found a great Ikea display case for Joes (called the Bertby). This is two units mounted side by side with the doors hinged towards the outside for slick awesome-sauce opening. Mounted 4 LED lights for that professional collectors look ;-) And it comes with 9 fricken' shelves! Woot! 10 if you count the very bottom. The actual display area is 7" deep by 12" wide, by 63" tall. Here she be, loaded up with 25th! You can see some shelves I have 10 figures on with room to spare. So this may not be for folks on this board with bazillions of figures, but for my son and I it works out ok ;-) Cheers! ~ Paul. |

These are the shelves my buddy has , the "floating" effect. Really nice clean look. These seem like the way to go . The LED have been added since my bud got his , nice touch though .

The LED lights I purchased separately, drilled some holes in the middle, used some double-sided tape and voila!... Bob's your inbred uncle and also your brother. Cheers! ~ Paul.

That's awesome man, looks great. I've got an Ikea catalogue that I've been thumbing through for some cases for my Transformers Alternators and Masterpieces.
Looks like I may have to get a few more for some Joes!

Transformers would work great in there! The nice thing is that the shelves are fully adjustable up and down.

Schweet wall mounted display you go there playboy!!
This looks so much like a professional shot off of "Dwell" magazine. Are those lights included with the display? Built-in? Last edited by Agent-GHQ; 07-05-2008 at 12:36 PM.. |
