When I got the Defiant in the 1980's, right out of the box those doors were broke.
Out of every 10 defiants I see, 9 of them have broke blue doors. A real pain. I will keep an eye out for you. Good luck in the mean time!! :-) Hope you complete that Defiant! |

Isn't the entire damn awkward thing always broken?
Notch that keeps the crank from wobbling was instantly broken on mine. Random parts fell off and got run-over-to-death as I pushed it across the room while rearranging. Couple weeks ago I tripped on something in the basement, and with a wave of the arm, smashed off a shuttle fin. Guess what I'm saying is...good luck. Hope you don't have to but an entire base section. |

In the meantine i'm going to try and gorilla glue the shattered pieces together. I wonder if the Flagg is as brittle as the defiant is.

No, the Flagg is a bit more sturdy. I had a cat pull down a curtain rod on the tower and all that happened was a net antenna came off (Didn't break, but just came off)
I don't have the blue door, but if you need one of the grey inner parts, I have a spare of that |

You can try a glue called Goop.usually available at craft stores.it bonds very quickly (like within seconds).my doors arrived broken in pieces also. and this is what i used to put it back together.
let dry for about 24 hours. holds very strong. |

Thanks for the Goop info!
Do you think this stuff would work on a tailfin or other smaller part? How about gorilla glue? I've tried 2 part epoxy on stuff with mixed results. It's a bit difficult to manage, mine comes in 2 separate tubes that you squirt from and mix, then try to apply it with a tool or spoon or toothpick or whatever you don't want to see again. Glued hair back to daughter's DarkChylde figure? Fell off. Twice. Major Bludd helmet adjustment-worked well! Tiny dab for Battle Armor CCs hose(refuse to lose it!) Months later, it is mysteriously still sticky and melty. Maybe interacting with paint? Finally, I used large sloppy globs to attach cut arms on a crazy custom I'm making. It's never coming off! Off topic, I know, but I'd like to fix my mess of a defiant. Any glue related threads on here? |

I glued my defiant doors using gorilla glue, it works, but the glue does expand and cause some bleeding from the cracks, but overall it worked great, definetly some strong glue. Kev |
