So I was entertaining my 8th grade class with my newly acquired 1994 Sci-Fi with sweet zip line when the zip line came untied at one end, Sci-Fi plummeted to the ground, and the peg broke off his backpack and got stuck in his back! I'm sure I can get the peg out of his back, but I need a new backpack ASAP! It can be missing the launcher, but I need the hook on top, side gun, and of course the peg to be intact!
If you have one for sale, or a complete figure on the cheap, please let me know! My students were actually REALLY sad that he broke. They thought he was great. I did too! Help! |

I just fixed Targett who had the same issue. Get a pair of small needle nose pliers and gently worth the peg out. Once out, grab some super glue and glue it back. I have taken the flight pack off of Targett several times and no signs of breaking BUT I will look around and see if I have an extra back pack

I appreciate the advice on fixing it, but I'm one of those freaks who just KNOWS it's broken and it will erk me to no end! If you have a replacement, let me know your price! This guy quickly became my favorite Joe figure and I'm really bummed :(
Thanks a bunch! |

A few weeks ago I got a figure that had a broken hand which someone glued back on. I noticed it was glued because it didn't turn like the other hand. When it broke off I drilled a hole into the hand and into the forearm. Then I placed a metal rod into the hole. I placed the hand back on and now I have total 360 degree articulation. It still pissed me off though because I know it's really broken and the not way it was made. By the way you might want to try using a small dril bit to drill into the broken off peg. Once you get the bit stuck into the peg try to pull the peg out of the hole. If you do it carefully it might no ruin the sides of the peg hole the way that pliers might. To put the peg back onto the backpack you might want to try melting the plastic together. It might be had to do this, but I found that if bonds together better than any glue can. Since it's already broken anything's worth a try.

Hey man, I read your thread twice before I noticed it was the 94 backpack.
I happen to have a Funskool one if you want it--same color & not bad mold for being Funskool. Lemme know if you want it & we can work it out

They do! I actually do a silent charity auction every year and I am always sure to throw in some Joes and Transformers along with lots of donated items. The kids go nuts, and we always make at least $1000! (Yes, thousand!)

Eh, I'm a little weary of the Funskool pack...not necessarily because of overall quality, but because I know I'll get all OCD on it if it's not exactly like the U.S. one. I do appreciate it very much, though!
