SOLD!
I'm trying to trim my collection size, so sorry Defiant, it's time to go! I bought this Defiant from a Toys R Us in August of 1991 for a clearance price of $69.90. Sorry, but I'm going to be asking more than that for it ;) Anyway I have been the sole owner of this for over 20 years (Damn...) I've got lots of pics as you can see below, but here's a description of the condition: -Includes all of the blue prints/instructions sheets. -Includes Payload figure with file card, helmet, MMU backpack with both control arms and umbilical cord -Includes Hardtop figure with file card and micro phone (missing his pistol). -Includes extra parts still on the sprues: 4 of the quad-gun black mounts and the 2-piece black "periscope" -Includes the box! top and especially the bottom are not in very good condition. But most of the color artwork is pretty nice for such a large box over 20 years old. -Gantry/Crawler is complete with all parts but a few dings here and there. I've posted pictures of all the dings below. But for more detailed descriptions of them: --1) There's a stress mark on the big blue door panel at the top where one of the quad gun mounts attaches. --2) Where the crawler's lifting arms/struts attach to the bottom/back of the gantry, there's a tab that's chipped off on one side. For the other arm, that tab is intact and it secures the arm connection. It still feels plenty secure with the one tab chipped off. It does make it easier/less worrisome to take the gantry off of the crawler if you want to store them separately. --3) One of the crawler's underslung double red guns has the attachment tabs chipped so it doesn't stay on anymore. --4) Another of the underslung double red guns has the barrels broken off of the hub. (The third red double gun on top of the cab is fine.) --5) The red double gun with chair that mounts at the front of the crawler has a small tab underneath chipped. I think this is very inconsequential, it's not visible when attached and I believe the tab is basically only intended to limit the range of motion for the similar seats that are mounted at the back of the crawler by the control rooms. -Defiant Shuttle itself is complete with all parts, but again a couple dings: --1) The front starboard gun hatch has the rear peg broken off. The gun hatch still stays in position just fine, however it is more difficult to open the hatch. --2) There's a crack on the white shuttle shell between the cockpit and payload bay. It seems to look bad, but really just cosmetic. That crack has actually been there since I opened the box in 1991. -Booster/Space Station: --1) The sticker on the sliding clear panel over the transporter module is rather poorly applied (instructions should've said to put that sticker on before assembling it all! ;) ) --2) Revolving Air Lock door has both the top and bottom pegs broken off. The door will still stay wedged into it's spot, but it does not revolve/rotate smoothly. Lots of photos below! Of course this is a very large item, and with the box it becomes even more of a hassle to ship. I've also seen some horror stories about a Defiant being shipped and the blue gantry doors not being protected enough resulting in them shattering into a multitude of plastic shards. So first, I am NOT shipping this outside of the US. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, Guam, and military APO/FPO addresses also seem like a bad idea. So this is my idea of a shipping plan (if a buyer or someone has a better idea, please let me know, I've never shipped something so huge): I would have to use UPS due to the size and weight. I believe they also give you a break with multiple boxes in 1 shipment so I'd probably ship it as 3 items: --1) The box itself flattened, wrapped in other cardboard --2) The Crawler and Ganrty --3) The Shuttle and Booster (their weight inside the gantry during shipping doesn't seem like a good idea) Then I'd have it packed at UPS with their stryofoam "peanuts/popcorn" packing material so that it could be insured. It ends up sounding "expensive" for shipping so I'd be asking for a $200 shipping deposit. Whatever the actual cost of shipping turned out to be in the end, I would refund every little bit of difference if there's an overcharge. If it actually cost more than that, I'd have to eat the difference myself. If a buyer wanted cheaper shipping, maybe I'd do that, but then I'm not going to be held responsible for damage during shipping. For the price of this Defiant itself, I think it's in pretty good condition, includes the figures and box, so my asking price is $500. Here are some more display photos of the Defiant, BUT!: "Other figures, vehicles and accessories are sold separately" (well, actually the other stuff is not for sale). Everything that is pictured in the photos in the first post is included.

Where might you be located? If you happen to be anywhere near the North East,... definitely would consider a pick up.
