" I'm just a simple man, trying to make my way in the universe " Hypothetical question here, and please be honest - 1. What do you feel is a FAIR profit for someone to make on a single, common (not hard to find), MOC figure. This is after cost of the figure it's self is figured in AND shipping - the money made not including these two things (forget about time, effort, energy, gas, ect, just after cost and shipping) ? 2. Same thing, but I HARD to get figure everyone wants - not a special variant like a clear Wraith or a Yellow Stalker, something like an Eel such - a common figure in high demand? I have a very good reason for asking, but I want to see some honest feed back first between what people are willing to pay vs what they would ASK if there were the seller? I DON'T want this turn in to a "scalper" thread, I just want some honest answers, and remember, think of it not only as they buyer, but the SELLER too. Thanks -

I think a fair price for a MOC figure would be something that you could back up with say, the prices listed on GIJoePriceGuide.com or an average sampling of similar items on E-bay.

if its moc and in great shape, i can see paying 12 -14 tops for it. honestly though ive had quite a few eels and i traded them all off because i was disapointed in them, they cant hold there gun for crap. plus there breather doesnt stay on great either. really they are better to keep moc. but no common figure is worth more then 14 bucks shipped and thats pushing it.

If it is something I want or need, $15 shipped sounds fair to me.

I swear I'm not being a smartass when I say this, but things are worth what ever someone is willing to pay. It can also be said that things are only worth what you can get for them. I guess thats really the same thing, just looked at from different angles. I think timing and popularity has a lot to do with price as well. I just sold my entire McFarlaine (Spawn) collection, series 1 through the manga stuff and got $300.00 for it. That is not nearly what I had in it retail cost, not counting variants and exclusives. If I had sold at the height of the lines popularity I know I would have got a lot more.
To give an opinion on your question I would say asking anything more than double retail price is just wrong. |

I agree. $12- $15 is a good price. $7- $10 for the fig, and $5- $6 for shipping, add $1 per fig for shipping.

We must all remember, if we are being fair, that shipping costs are going up.

Personally, I don't go past 10.00 per figure when I buy, and I don't expect to sell for more than 12 each. Variants are another story as well as short packed.

So then all basically agree that a $1-2 profit (AFTER cost and shipping) on a COMMON figure is MORE than fair?
