It's been a week so most of us know what went down with Cobra Commander. It was a move that most of us didn't see coming, one which was planned as early as last year. IDW kicked off GI Joe Cobra with a bang, literally, for 2011.
So the question is, Do you like how IDW has handled Cobra Commander? Discuss! |

Yes and no.
We didn't have enough time to really get into the character, get to know the character fully and really enjoy the character. I did like the way they had him set up. Just wish we had had another year's worth of stories before they killed him off. I just think it was too soon.

I thought it was a very bold, exciting, and truthfully necessary move. GIJOE Cobra has been carrying the whole IDW continuity on its shoulders, so it is quite fitting that this event should occur within its pages.
My theory, however, is that the individual who was killed was not actually him but a fill in. Only a few issues earlier, we see Chuckles with a CC impersonator, while the "real" CC is watching from a distance with the Baroness. This seems like a "built in" explanation for CCs inevitable return. Also, we never found out if CC is actually Chimera...... |

Forgot about Chimera completely...
I'm interested in the future of Krake and if he'll be the next CC. Also Tomax/Xamot will be interesting as well as Chuckles. Monk is another 'X' factor as well. |

the writers have said that there's no trick or decoy. The individual who is Cobra Commander is dead and won't be coming back.
Chimera has nothing to do with Cobra Commander. That guy wasn't even part of Cobra. |

You don't know that any more than we do. Unless of course you write for IDW.

I've seen no affilation between him and Cobra, neither have you. There hasn't even been a hint of such a thing. We can only go by what we've seen. From what we've been given to this point, my statement is correct. Chimera has nothing to do with Cobra.
