I currently have about 13 long boxes of comic books (bagged and boarded) in my spare bedroom. These currently take up a lot of space and we would like to make this into a usable bedroom. We have a wooden storage building outside that is not heated or cooled. I thought about putting all my comics in sealed totes and putting them out side in this building. Do you think I could have any damage to the comics due to the heat and cold?

I would say yes. Them plastic storage totes are not going to lock moisture out, neither is the bag and board, lol.

Yeah...that's a bad idea. Dramatic temperature shifts lead to moisture build up. Any paper product you hope to archive has to be kept temperate, in dry conditions.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, especially any moisture buildup from the changes in heat and cold.

I wish it was that easy to just move them to the bathroom. That would be plenty of recreational reading lol. I am debating on selling them just to free up that space.

climate control is your friend. Comics or spare bedroom, you choose.

Yes, you're asking for disaster moving them outside. Not only from the elements, but from bugs, wildlife, and also water damage.

i keep mine in the basement (finished) on some shelves i got from Ikea. I only have 6 long boxes and a few shorts left so they don't take up too much space. This way you can stack them without damaging them. The problem with selling them is there really is no market for old comics right now. They are prolly more valuable to you than anyone else out there. This also keps them off the floor and away from the walls so they stay dry.

If I knew what I know now, I would have only bought graphic novels. So much easier to store.
