I really liked #4, where Hawk and Grunt infiltrate Wingfield's militia and SE is watching 'em.
I love the line "they're trying not to be good and are failing" or something like that.

It was an occupied island, Cobra got found out and vacated the premises.
I remember the part in #1 where Cobra killed the villagers. That was hard core.

It's interesting to note that continuity for the series starts in issues 10 & 11. 10 introduces Dr. Venom, Springfield, and the Brain Wave Scanner; and 11 has Destro and the first batch of new Joes. Before that, the stories really don't connect to each other or the rest of the series. I have to say 6 & 7 are some of my favorite issues from that era.

I love the cover art work of issues 1-70 something, had that old school style. After that they didn't seem as dramatic. ( in general ) It was nice to read 1-10 thanks to the reissue comic packs about 5 years ago.

My all-time favorite issue is #58. I always dug how CC had a son. It made him human, and added to the drama. It's also set in Denver, and I love that town!

Issue #21 - Silent Interlude, one of the best in the series.

I loved the run where Fred VII "kills" Cobra Commander and takes over, then causes a civil war on Cobra Island. That was very cool!
