Has anyone heard of any problems over there at IDW ... if just seems like something is wrong.
We haven't seen a new Joe comic in a while. |

I haven't heard anything. To my knowledge, everything is fine. I usually buy my comics a bunch at a time, so I don't know if they've been coming out on a regular basis.

do we know any of the sales numbers?
personally, i think they messed up by venturing too far off canon with the re-launch.

I think the time was right for a new continuity. Things can get stale and predictable without one. (Someday, Marvel's gotta do this).
The new Joe continuity leaves me more interested than the end of the old continuity. IDW's doing a fine job. Yes it was a little slow in the main line at the beginning, but it's picking up. |

There's only two titles now, with Cobra having been completed in June. Origins and the main series came out last month. The next issues will be out in September, possibly early October.
Origins went from a miniseries to an ongoing, there might be delays getting those issues out, because of the last minute greenlight on the continued series. IDW *did* release the Origins trade two weeks ago, and Classic Vol 5 this Thursday. There's nothing amiss here, just a little gap between releases. |

i'm not totally against a reboot. that's fine. the thing is, there are certain things that i think people feel is getting too far away from the original canon.
there are ways to tell a new story with certain things the same, and it not being stale...of course, it's harder. personally, the main title is WAY too Sci Fi for me...i remember when i was 6 thinking the M.A.S.S device was pretty stupid...but being happy cause the cartoon was out. now, i'm not really happy about the cartoon taking over the comic book, and to me that is what's happening. just my opinion. i haven't checked out the origins yet. i think i'll pick up the TPB...heard nothing but good from it.

Currently reading volume 5 of the reprints. I hope they get the whole series out this time. Including Special Missions and the Annuals. I remember every story and thinking while reading them I had to make a Walmart run to find the newest figures that were shown in the comic. It seemed as soon as the new issue hit, I could go to WM and find those very figures and vehicles. Of course back then, going to Walmart might happen once a week or sometimes only twice a month. Not daily like I seem to do now.

I dont think using the worst parts of the original run to justify the new series actions is a good way to go about things. People dont remember the old series for this crap, they ignore it. Id suggest IDW try to look at the original series and see what DIDNT work and go with the BEST stuff and not the worst stuff to mimick
just my 2 cents |
