Hello All,
My first post on HISS. Glad to be here. I dug out all my 1980's GI Joe comics from my mom's house for the first time in like 30 years, and I am enjoying them all over again. Which brings me to my question: I had both the complete set of Marvel's European MIssions, and some of the Marvel Action Force comic set from the UK. I am hoping to sell one of the subsets, since they seem to be redundant. Before I do so though, I was wondering if the content in European Missions covers ALL 50 of the Action Force stories? Or are they cherry picked? If European Missions indeed covers all of the Action Force missions, then I will likely sell Action Force. But I first want to make sure that I wouldn't be selling stories that are not 100% encapsulated by European Missions. My question make sense? Thanks! |

Where in IL are you (asking in case you sell, I buy, and we can hand them off from at least 6 feet away. I’ll wear the Cobra mask my wife just gave me)?

I'm in Oak Park. I first want to get an answer to my question though before I sell anything.

I believe "European Missions" stories were cherry-picked from "Action Force". Thus, "European Missions" does not include all of "Action Force".
I don't think any stories were exclusive to "European Missions", either

I can say for fact European Missions does not reprint everything from Action Force.
I'd be hard pressed to give you all the story lines because if memory serves their not all in one issue of either series and their printed in different orders. As a good example AF1 and AF2 has the story Gunboat! parts 1 and 2, but in EM Gunboat! is broken between #7 and #8 One day maybe I'll sit down and figure out a master list of this stuff. |

So here we go...
Gotta say for first time people reading this was G.I. Joe in the UK was Action Force and they had a few books with new stories broken into a few parts usually 5 or 6 pages each, and the stories ran for several issues. New stories were mixed with stories from the American book. I have not included any of the American stories in this list. But in the UK they had 4 sources for stories. -Action Force Weekly -Action Force Monthly -Action Force Annual -Other (Transformers UK) Eventually some but not all of these stories made it to the US via a reprinting called G.I. Joe European Missions. I have made a list of what stories were in what books and what they were reprinted in. |
