Should Gi joe return to Marvel ?

Actually IDW sucks. Marvel should take it over. I think Disney should buy Hasbro and GI Joe.

I mean it might be better for a different company to take a fresh swing at it.

I mean lets be honest when was IDW's Joeverse last good?

The contest for leadership of Cobra?

Maybe that carried thru a year after that?

But frankly the Joe IDWverse hit the skids for even the most devote followers at 2014's The Fall of G.I. Joe story.

What followed was 5 years of just awful story.

That died a HORRIBLE death in the Hasbroverse and Scarlett's Strikeforce.

So maybe IDW has run its course of ideas for Joe.

But you can't ignore the fact that Joe itself is in a massive slump...or frankly as a brand its future is in limbo. So maybe IDW isn't as to blame as it sounds.

For me the one shining light for me in IDW has been the continuation of Hama's run from Marvel. No one really knows these characters like Hama. And sure we had a big eye, and Fake Eyes...but for the most part it has still been the best book IDW has given us.

So a move back to Marvel means likely more over site from someone above who is there to push product and less worried about good story.

AND I would hazard to guess that while the Hama book has a devoted audience, I also know from my comic shop its not exactly something they order en mass. In fact my shop only gets a few (like 5) copies and its all reservists. And other shops in my area...its never on shelves so I assume is similar.

So would the Hama book sell enough to keep going at Marvel?

I would be surprised if it did.

More so in this slump.

No...I think its better to stay at IDW and hopefully find some niche to rebuild in.
