Todd McFarlane went from being one of the best artists to the creator of spawn and mcfarlane toys. But like so many things from the 90s, the initial shock has worn off.
So has Todd McFarlane stood the test of time? |

He lost me when he started buying all of those baseballs and having pictures of them in the back of issues of Spawn.

Well whether he has stood the test of time or not remains to be seen. His most famous creation, Spawn, still has a loyal following, and being one of the founding creators with Image Comics he has had a lasting impact on the comics industry. His toys are immensely popular and sell well. So like him or not, he is a force in the comics/collectibles world.

Aye, I do. He's a good guy. I just grabbed his new book "Haunt" while in the comic shoppe last week. It's pretty good reading. It's, admittedly, the first McFarlane book I've picked up in many years (the last being Spawn issue 100 or something, where Angela and Malebolgia died....many years ago).
As for his figures, I have so many from over the years that I love. There have been issues...but overall, I'm a fan (and I'm not given to playing with my toys, so fragility isn't really an issue to me).

I liked him before Spawn got popular. To me he's a has-been. Now it's nothing but sports & Halo. Movie Maniacs was cool back in the day. And the Aliens & Predator lines. I still love all the female figures.

I used to LOVE his Movie Maniacs Line, didn't care for his Spawn Franchise, just never dug the character...But his other toys had a certain expectation to it where you usually could at the very least expect awesome Sculpts if not the best Articulation, the last line I collected of his was the Dragons Line...Haven't bought much since then though...but there was a time, that he was THE MAN in Movie Licenses...EDIT: I have been collecting his HALO Line recently, so I guess I'm not completely done with him.

not a fan of his work.will say this though he can write but i think his artwork was lacking.everyone he drew looked like they were melting or older then they should have been.
