Absolutely. They are so much better than the Transformers run and the cartoon. Dive in immediately.

Dear friend, the G.I.JOE ARAH 1-155, the 28 numbers of "Special Missions" and the 4 "Yearbooks"'d be considered the BIBLE of G.I.JOE universe. I.D.W. reissued them all a couple of years ago and I suggest You to buy and read them, You'll tell us "thank You".

It is one of those rare cases that the comic book did not get old or dated, even reading it decades later.
I can't stand Marvel or DC from the 80´s and 90´s, but Gi Joe has aged well. |

II only saw the Sunbow series as a kid, so maybe I'm biased. I don't understand why so many have a hard on for the Marvel comics. I read the entire series last year and couldn't understand what was so great about. There is some good stuff sprinkled thoughout but there is also a lot of crap.

If you hadn't watched sunbow as a kid then watching it now would it would seem like crap. If you read the comic when u were younger you would love it now. |

I re read it every summer, from issue 1 to whatever number the current series is on at that point. Great fun, it never gets old. The nostalgia trip is great as I can recall here I bought every issue and where I read it. A lot of our opinions are going to be biased because of nostalgia. En without that factored in the stories are far superior to the cartoon, maturity wise, the comic also is one long continuous story, whereas the cartoon where just little short stories basically.
