I am giving all titles a shot but I agree Aquaman was a good start as well as detective and all things Flash related. The only slow start that did not hook me right off the bat was Green Arrow. I am not quiting on one issue but it may take time to get going for me. I think the main pull is they were not origin or get to know issues but straight into what looks like decent story lines. Not forgetting or wiping clean but taking from there and making DC great again.
I also like the new approach of there is a threat but the hero does not look defeated before they start. Wonder Woman was a good read on that. There is something there and it follows through the whole issue but it is a mystery and not a whoa is me tale. I really liked the misleads up to the end. You read the story and each page gives a new object to project the mood of the issue on. I thought it was awesome and I have never read a strictly Wonder Woman story. Ya with Aquaman im likin the storyline/art and the relevance Aquaman has since Johns. Detective is cool with the team aspect. Kinda feels like xmen and the danger room. Love how they are using ClayFace. Im liking Tim Drakes(my second favorite hero) characterization. He feels like the old Tim finally. And yes I love all things Flash. Ya Green Arrow seems to be going back to the Liberal Ollie which is cool. Im glad Black Canary is back in his book. They belong together. Wonder Woman was surprisingly prolly my least favorite so far. And I loved Wonder Woman last time Rucks wrote it. Maybe its just off to a slow start for me. The pacing is just slow. I did like the last page with Cheetah. Im a little behind on Rebirth as my local Hastings(which is declaring Bancrupcy) dident get all the comics in shipments the last few weeks. Might need to find a new LCS.

I order through DCBS online, excellent service I just had to order 3 months in advance but got awesome pricing and books were very well packaged. My local shops said they were having issues with filing box request much less having shelf copies. I have 3 killer shops within 3 miles of each other. All are well supported. I go there for back issues and general support.
I just finished my Superman books. Once again a character I never cared for but now I'm interested. I know it is not the cool thing to do but I like Superdad, we always see Batman as the Patriarch figure with his brood and I like Supes reactions to dealing with his own son. The only bad part of online ordering is I ship once a month at the end of the month so I have to wait until the end of July to catch back up . I like Clayface in Detective and really want to see how Bizarro plays out in the Red Hood book too. Last edited by siamese goat; 06-30-2016 at 02:33 PM.. |
