Hey kids, I just wanted to see if anyone else agrees with me regarding the new ongoing joe titles. Personally, I do not think the store is " That gripping" or different from anything DDP did. Also, is it me or is 3.99 for a lot of ads and maybe a few pages of stories plus the 3 or 4 titles going at once, is just a little too much right now.
Don't get me wrong ,I want to read these stories but as I did with all the DDP, I wait for the 15.00 trade paper backs, I hate having thousands of comics around the house, the TPB you can put nicely on a bookshelf. By the way the Marvel reprints are awesome, I hope they comtinue. Anyone? |

the 3-5pages of adds at the back are standard across all publishers now. Its irritating, but thats the modern way of life...
Honestly, I'm enjoying the main run, but the other two I'll be waiting until the trades hit. |

The core material is great, I just like to wait and get the tpb instead of paying 3.99 for 5 pages of stories and 10 pages of ads for every other comic coming out from idw!

They are no worse than any other. I'm a big star wars nut, and of the five ongoing comic series, I wait for all but one to come out in trade before picking it up. |

Origins is by far the best title available. Cobra seems to have enormous potential as well.
I would say that the GI Joe title has been coming up short, time after time - IMO. And it pains me to say that. I'm all for Origins. |

All comics are up to $3.99 and a ton of ads. Just par for the course.
I like it. Cobra was good. I'm liking Origins. And the main title has potential. The story seems like it may have worked better as the 2nd storyline, but I'm pretty happy with the pacing and the characters. I like the redesigns that we've seen (BBQ and Bazooka). And I'm one of the few that the nicknames don't bother me (Beach, Rat, etc..)

Yes, I guess I as not being fair, its not just Joe, its all comics. That is why I do not collect single issues anymore unless the cover is nasty! TPB are the way to go!
P.S. Some of the artwork in current comics is really bad. I miss the old days of dark horse black and white! |
