Hey, I am very Happy about the Marvel reprint trade paperbacks. I have volumes 1 and 2 and 3 is coming out soon.
Here is the question. These guys on EBAY got volumes 3, 4, an 5 for sale for like 40-70 bucks each. I called Diamond Distributer ( the comic distributer) and they told me they are not in print yet. I emailed these sellers on ebay to ask if they had them in hand and they did not answer ( neither of them). Whats goin on, is Diamond wrong or are these Ebayers scammin? Are you sure it's not 3,4,& 5 from when Marvel reprinted them a few years ago? Marvel put out 5 TPBs before they lost the license to that material. Chances are, someone's unloading the marvel versions (which fetched a fair price until IDW started reprinting them) before the IDW version come out and make them worth far less.
If they really are the IDW versions, then I'm guessing that if you read the fine print, it'll be a 'pre-order' or some crazy scheme. |

do you have a link? are they the new IDW reprints or the old marvel reprints? judging by your post they sound like there the new IDW reprints, which doesn't seem out of the realm of impossibility that someone got their hands on it first, look at the movie figs. the lack of response is always a redlight IMO. but they could be the og marvel reprints

I could not create a link because my Mac is telling me I need to create an account to send links or messages out so I pasted the address. These have the cover art for the new volumes though, no? |

The cover art is the same for both the new and old versions. IDW is re-using the covers that J Scott Campbell did for Marvel a few years ago.
The auction description states that this is the out of print version, so these are the '02 Marvel reprints. They are just unloading them before IDW makes them not-rare. He's just hoping that some sucker doesn't know that IDW will have a new printing out in a few months. Hmmm, maybe I should put all my Marvel versions on ebay quickly... what a tool that dude is. Does anyone know how far IDW is taking the reprints? Are they going for more that the 5 volumes I have from a few years ago?

Yeah, it's probably the Marvel TPB. Before IDW started reprinting them the exact same way (With a slight correction to TPB #2 Marvel missed a page on theirs) the Marvel TPB's were being sold for upwards of $80 each (At least that's what some people were asking for them) I never paid over retail for the few I got and now I can get the harder to find ones as IDW versions (Which are actually cheaper than the original retail price for the Marvel ones!)
Paitence young grasshopper and you shall have comic awesomness for cheap |

They're supposedly doing the whole marvel series, and they claim to have 'special' plans for the annuals (no idea what that is). No word yet on Special Missions, but we're all hopeful.

Thank you guys, I didn't know that the old reprints had the scott artwork on the front, I almost jumped the gun and bought these....NOT!!!!
I never , ever pay full price for comics. Also in the process of getting all the dark horse omnibus collections ( aliens, terminator, predator, and some star wars) but trying not to pay 25 each! LOL |

By the way, is the DDP Transformers Omnibus hardcover really worth 150-180.00? They have one for 50.00 at my local shop, I have been meaning to get it, is it really rare?
