no O13 is needed for the new continuity. The whole team is there. They can never replace the 1982 O13 in my mind anyway.

The Marvel series was great the way it was, but reboots are ok.

The main series has the entire team in place, Origins does not.

I hear a lot about people saying this and that about phobias about changes made...well, I for one am sick of never being given a proper screen adaption of anything EVER. Even if the movie does turn out being good (and the cases are rare), it's still not the way the book was, or the way it was in real life. But we typically get movies where the name of the franchise/book stays the same, and a few character names and minor plot elements stay the same, but the story is something entirely different. Why? I have no problem with borrowing thematic elements from other literary storylines, or traditional folklore, or classic movies - but if you're not going to keep it as it was originally intended, then make it your own.
Example: Bladerunner. This is a loose adaption of Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" (although I always thought it should have been called Do Androids Count Electric Sheep), so the name is already different. The stories have very little to do with each other, aside from a detective hunting down rogue androids. But even the reasons for this are different. And yet, we still have the all the character names the same. The book and the movie, while I enjoy them both, are two wholly different stories, where the characters have the same freaking names. And I find this bothersome, for some reason.
Now we have what feels like the 100th reboot of GI Joe - from the original soldier, to Action Man, to the A Real American Hero most of us grew up with in toy, Marvel comic and cartoon variations, to Mega Marines, to Sgt. Savage, back to the 12" line, Image and DD comics, Joe Vs. Cobra, Venom Vs. Valor, DTC, 25th and Modern era - now we have the Rise of Cobra, Resolute and the new comic series...there's too much convolution here. Can't we put it back the way it was for a while? I'd much rather have Joe: The Next Generation, with all-new characters and vehicles and enemies, than have to deal with my well-known childhood companions being forced to go through another realignment of some capitalist corporate machine again...
Every time you rewrite these characters (who were perfect from the start), you just cheapen it a little more.

I don't mind a reboot, they can be good for the line, even if that line is a comic.
