What was your favorite storyline from the Marvel run?
For me it had to be the Cobra Civil War. It was the payoff to all the backroom dealing and double-crosses that made Cobra fun in the comics. The plot was complex and surprising. With several different factions plating off of each other. I was going to go on, but I don't want to spoil any major plot points for those who may want to go find this in the back issue bins. I think IDW is supposed to get around to reprinting the rest of the Marvel run, that didn't get reprinted by DD. It'll be cool to have these stories in TP format. |

For me it was any story that showcased why the Joes were such an elite unit.
Coming to mind is a couple of the Sierra Gordo missions. The first was when Recondo was introduced and a 4-man Joe squad had to assault a fort from a cliff top. Another was when Flint, Lady Jaye, Roadblock and I think it was Muskrat along with the Oktober Guard had to escape the Iron Grenadiers. Anything Ninja Force was garbage. Most of the Special Missions were great. I wish there had been more stories like those.

I loved the Special Missions series, I love the one with stalker and muskrat on the cover ( I have it, just cannot remember the issue number) and all these bats are dressed like terrorists! Its my favorite story.

That's one of my favorites as well. I loved Special Missions because the Joes were more involved in pure military missions and none of the "soap-opera" that was in the main series.

That's why I loved them, as a child I admit I used to buy joes and use them as army guys, I never really used the whold cobra thing. As a adult I love the Joe/Cobra thing, but I was a military junky as a kid. The special missions were more realistic.

My favorite stories were the return of Cobra Commander and the Snake Eyes killer commando storyline that unfortunately lead to the Trucial Abysmia disaster.

issues 1-12 and a nod to 13 (is that when we see gung ho doc airborne ace wildbill snow job for the first time?)
ANYTHING that showcased the 13 that made me so nuts for the book and toys is A_OK by me! It's sad how they just meshed into the background unless your name was scarlett or snake eyes! Was glad that stalker got a lotta play in the end there! |

There are so many great ones. Cobra Civil War and the return of CC were mentioned so I'm going to say when CC and Destro were trapped in the collapsed remains of the Pit. Seeing those two characters working together to survive was really cool.
