I wasn't particularly interested in getting involved in a Beast Wars continuity debate but it looks like it started anyways. It's another clear example where continuity problems within the show are minimal yet controversy exists due to interviews. Last edited by Kintoun; 01-05-2009 at 10:43 PM.. |

Marvel can retcon whatever they want with Spidey. See: "Brand New Day" and Mephisto.
But, you're correct...I don't believe they've actually stated that the Spidey/Transformers team-up was wiped out. The usual explanation I've heard for Spidey in issue 3 is: "oh..that was just the Spider-Man/Peter Parker of the Transformers Universe. Not the regular mainstream (616) Marvel U Spidey". Of course, ultimate crossover wh*re Nick Fury also appeared in that Transformers issue To add fuel to the fire, Transformers villain Circuit Breaker also appeared in "Secret Wars II" in a brief scene where she met the Beyonder. No Transformers were involved, just Circuit Breaker. Another version of Circuit Breaker is believable... but since Beyonder was uber-powerful he could've actually hopped in the TF Universe for a brief instant. For another conundrum, check out the "Snake-Eyes Trilogy", circa issue 95-98. None other than J. Jonah Jameson walks by the Cobra Consulate Building and "Sarge's" newsstand, complaining that the Daily BUgle isn't on sale. Again, the explanation is: "oh...that was just the JJJ of the GI Joe Universe. Not the regular mainstream (616) Marvel U Jameson." I'm not sure, but if I remember my Spidey-history correctly, JJJ wasn't even involved with the Daily BUgle at that point in time (1989). I think that was when Thomas Fireheart (Puma) took over the paper and ran positive articles on Spidey, as a way to pay back a debt he owed. If I'm right, then that makes the "GI Joe U Jameson" explanation easier to accept.

Wow, Kintoun, you're...
well, angry, and wrong, and belligerent. Seeing as how the EDITOR of the Marvel TF comics, writing in the comics, the retcons doesn't convince you that Marvel decided to retcon away the Spidey, I don't know what else can convince you. Need some deity to come down in light and sparkles and perform miracles with the message, "Thou shalt ignore Spider-Man" would probably be the only thing you'd seem to accept. You can't give opinions and have them accepted as facts, especially when answering direct questions. Give all the opinions you want, they're still not facts. So bitching that I didn't give any opinions of my own makes...no sense at all. And yes, Beast Wars is a sequel to ALL the previous continuities before. Accept it. If you haven't come to grips with it in the past 10+ years or so since BW came out, then grow up, then accept it. If you keep with the arrogant nerd rage, I can tell your stay here will be...interesting. |
