Ok the only Marvel book I follow is Thunderbolt...which for some odd reason felt the need to call itself Dark Avengers for the last few issues....can anyone please explain what the was with that ending of Tbolts or DA?
I mean it was such a poor wrap up and T-bolts #1 didn't even bother to explain the ending of that evil Ironman thing. |

I agree, but his pacing isn't the greatest. He seems to have made the X-fans happy thus far though, and that's where it counts most.

Iron Man: The first notable thing that sets this title apart from the others is the fact that this title doesn't really cover any new ground. It's interesting and the art is gorgeous but nothing I'm interested in reading monthly. It does seem to use characters and objects from previous storylines, but it's a great entry point for new readers like me. The art is gorgeous. Of course I spent a lot of time at a convention talking to the inker, Jay Leisten, so I'm slightly impartial. LOL. Well done, but on my budget, I have to have more bang for my buck. 7/10
Point One: I'm not sure why Marvel keeps putting these out. They don't add anything to the story and the last one didn't sell very well. The stories are kinda interesting and I've got no major compliants, but it's just unneccessary. They add nothing to the stories, don't really give a feel for the book, and fail to intrigue me anymore for the advertised books. And's exactly what it is. Advertising that you pay $6 for. 3/10

WARNING: The following opinions don't reflect those of the internet.
Thor: Great artwork, great story, but just meh. The characterization is where i dislike the story, Thor just seems... too omnipotient. I guess he is supposed to be powerful, but he isn't the Thor I like. Of course, the only Thor I've ever really seen has come from the movies and cartoons. It's pass for me, but Jason Aaron is a great writer, and fans of him are probably gonna love this series. 6/10 Avengers: I love Jonathan Hickman. If anyone can write this large of an Avengers team, it'll be him. But thats the thing, this doesn't seem like the Avengers to me. It's the Avengers and a bunch of C-list characters. I'm not sure why, but this fails to excite me, and I was hyping this book. It just doesn't live up to the hype to me. I'll probably ask the library to get the hardcover when it comes out. Well wishes to the creative team, this could be a really great book, but for now, it's not for me. 7/10

So the other two titles I picked up were Hulk and Fantastic Four. Remember becasue of a sale, I bought every Marvel Now Skottie Young variant in the store.
I'm not a Fantastic Four fan. I haven't seen the movies, read the books, I've seen the terrible cartoons and that's where my knowledge of them comes from. My Hulk knowledge only comes from recent cartoons, the movies, and brief appearances in recent Avengers comics. Unitl now, I had not read anything by Mark Waid or Matt Fraction. I've heard a looooot of good things though. So yeah, these titles were new to me. I just wanted the Skottie Young variant covers. Fantastic Four: So I know a little about the future foundation and all before this. Wowza. Color me impressed. The ideas were intriguing and the fantastic four taking the Future Foundation into time and space is definitely on the list of things that I would like to see in comics! Dont know why. Dont ask. Gorgeous art, and great characterization, Matt Fraction's writing really feels at home here. I'm in until Age of Ultron, then I save money. 8/10 Indestructible Hulk: Bruce has finally realized that you can't cure the Hulk. Now it gets serious. Previosuly Bruce builds, Hulk screws, or vice-versa. His offer to Maria was entertaining to read and the idea that Hulk can be a cannonball, is just genius. I wonder why this idea hasn't been done sooner, it fits perfectly. The art work? The two page spread of Hulk is my favorite piece of Hulk artwork. Beautiful. I'm in for the long haul. 9/10

Picked up a few more, so here goes.
Avengers Arena: Well, this was unexpected. From a story standpoint, it was a well-written and well-drawn issue. But as a fan of Avengers Acadmey... If you are a fan of Avengers Academy, you will hate this book. I'm definitely saving money here. 5/10 Thunderbolts: I saw the Newsaram review gave the first issue 2/10. I disagree, while its nothing more than a first issue and a shorter version could've easily been fit into Point One, it's still a decent setup for the series, but I do have a few questions. Why isn't Deadpool funny? I am afraid this series is going to becoming boring very fast, and for that reason I am out. 6/10 FF: Great artwork, great storytelling, what more can I say? My only compliant is not not a whole lot happened, but after reading issues 1 and 2, I can tell it will only get better. 7/10 for the first issue. 8/10 for the second.

Initial reactions to Now and recent titles..
Hawkeye..A ANXM.....A Uncanny Avengers....B red She-Hulk.....B- JiM.............C Arena..........C Av assemble...........B/+ Avengers..............B/+ Fantastic Four.........B+ Iron man....................B-/C+ Hulk.................A- Thor..................B+ Deadpool..............C/- I think I'll like Avengers more eventually, but they should have had known a villain to start. A new concept and a new group of villains was a bad choice to start.
