Allright guys I'm wondering who was your favorite artist on the G.I. Joe comics? It can be any of them.
I think my favorites are Rod Whigam, MD Bright, and Hama from issue 21. I liked Tim Seely but not as much as the three above. |

I'll be awkward and say Vanyo from the UK Battle Action Force comics. Brilliant artist - His Cobra Troopers always looked so cool.

Michael Golden really cut loose on the interior to "Yearbook #2". Displayed a good sense of motion and excitement, plus his vehicle and armament renderings were well done.
Marshall Rogers had some tight, straightforward work on the books, circa issue 80. His work was usually clean, but he seemed to have bad inkers and colorists dabbling over his GI Joe stuff. I really liked MD Bright's work on the book, around issue 90-110. The only knock on him is that he drew the same face on everybody. I liked his stuff back in his "Power Man and Iron Fist" days, so he's probably my favorite. Phil Gosier was somewhat underrated. Like Golden, he displayed a fluidity to his figures and a sense of motion. It was exaggerated at times, and he quickly took to drawing figures with elongated legs. He was probably more suited for a superhero book, though. Whigham drew some REALLY vivid scenes and characters...but, to me, his characters always seemed incredibly stiff and wooden. I suppose that's perfect for rendering a book about little plastic men, though. If Whigham had had more natural figure drawing, he would've been my pick.
