I have always been a GI.Joe guy as far as comics goes. However sometimes I feel Joe comics are kinda looked down apon by other people who read comics.
Do any of you get that feeiling when you go to the comic shop? |

Any toy-comics are going to be looked down upon by the majority of comic readers. Anything based on a cartoon, toyline, etc..
G.I.Joe more so then Star Wars, because Star Wars gets bigger names to work on the projects. What the comic fans don't realize is how many people the toy-comics attract into overall comics. I started with G.I.Joe, then Transformers and then went from there to where at my height I was reading 30-40 comics a month. Even when I stopped collecting Joe toys, I was still reading comics. But yeah, for the most part the Joe comics haven't had the same story-impact that other comics have.

yes, in my expereience tf and joe was thought of as lesser quality material. i equate it to my experience in mac stores... anything else was just inferior and they had no quams telling you/treating you as such.

Do I live in the twilight zone or are some comic book shop customers a little on the off side, period?

You hit it right on the money, my friend. No love for Joe comics, current or classic.
I'll tell you a toy collector's attitude doesn't help any. I read some complaints on the tank boards about the last G.I. Joe run that make me shake my head. Collectors tend to care less about story and more about static, change-less characters. They want everything to stay the same and zero character development. I loved that with DDP comics, characters died, characters changed, real STORY stuff happened. I also think Larry Hama was on to some great story and characterization early on in the comics, and got sucked into pumping out new characters via hasbro. Comic readers hate on G.I. Joe cause they can't get past the toyline. Fans of both like us can see the value of the story past the toys.

Yes it does seem that way. Then i would say..At least it isn't like marvel, killing off characters just to bring them back in a couple of issues.Marvel would abuse the shock of killing people off far worse than DDP EVER did.

I don't have anything against Joe or TF comics, but I think it's weird that they are the only comics my roommate buys...

GI.Joe is about the only comics I buy. It just seems more real than super heros.
