Definately can't judge him by the comic packs, anyone that does is an idiot (no offense). Same with the artwork, can't relate what the artwork is in the comic packs to what the new series will be like.
1. They're aimed at kids 2. The restrictions are very very tight Even the best writer in the world will suffer under those conditions.

He has skill, he just needs to work off all that rust though.
He's as rusty as a 30 year old Camaro.

Idw has failed at it's attempt to repackage Joe.
Pencils, ink and story, It just doesn't work.

I fel origins is a sort-of prequel to resolute as it has the more adult oriented story to it so far, I'm still waiting for a reissue of #2 so I haven't gotten that far into the arc

I view him like I view Stan Lee. Thank you for your incredible bar setting standards and contributions, but please do not write anything involving your characters anymore.

I was cringing about the Nemesis Enforcer/Lt. Falcon comic because I knew how much Mr. Hama hated Cobra La...but he did the job and he gave little glimpses of how little he thought of the Nemesis character without spoiling the story. And in the end, it's the one comic pack story, I still remember.

Gi Joe Origins is showing me that he's better than ever. Each issue has me hanging on edge waiting for the next. That's damn good stuff.

I don't think anyone would argue that the comic pack books are the highlights of his career, but I thought the Snake-Eyes/Hard Master one was decent enough. It definitely made me wish that we could have seen the story produced during the Marvel run, though.
The IDW stuff is very good and shows that a good writer is a good writer no matter what decade they're writing in. |
