I thought the same, until I thought about this latest shift in product pricing.

These are a modification to an existing Marauder “Gun Runners” product, by printing two dimensional colorful stickers and applying them to the insides of the Briefcase.

Each of the four mission cases costs $3.99, but the Briefcase with working lid continues to cost only $1.29, so the sticker mark-up is $2.70 per mission case.

I was originally planning to purchase one of each mission case, until I realized that the plastic cases would only cost $5.16 (seems very fair), but the stickers hidden inside would cost me an additional $10.80, for a grand total of $15.96.

Ouch!

This is the first time I have ever felt like I was being overcharged by “Marauder” John, who I met at a JoeCon, and simply can’t say enough kind things about him. His shipping practices are the most fair of any business, (in my opinion).

I’m not sure what to think about this new product announcement. I only hope that these new prices don’t reflect a shift in the prices yet to come this year.

Isn't that what supply and demand, consumerism, and all that stuff is all about. Why knock a guy for trying to capitalize on something.

Agreed. Nothing in that set you can't make yourself, but for the people with more money than time on their hands it's a nice service. The price might seem high for the materials involved, but we don't know how long it takes him to knock these out.

I've met him several times and he is nothing but the nicest of guys, with a desire to add to the hobby and we've talked business a bit as he does this as a side thing with his real job. My bet are these cases and having them assembled are at a price point to make it reasonable to carry and make a bit of profit, but if you prefer to make your own thats your choice.

I actually designed these inserts for the cases for John, I know i am attached to the project but i would bet few would have the time and the experience (10 years in design and have produced packaging for products in 12 languages) to make them as nice and actually to scale to 1/18 as i have.

I researched everything. measured calculated to 1:18. I slaved and added the finest details from distressed leather, micro size marauder logos on the C4 to actual scale CDs, folders, and money. I handcrafted every block and every strap every piece of C4, Pipe and money so it would look as close to real as I could make them. I even added chipped paint to the edges of the detonator that i designed.
(I will admit i fudged the passports size they are a little big, but i wanted them to be clearly visible.)

MJ and I tried to make something that would be better and more cost effective than what the average guy can do in their house I believe we did that. I spent 2 days making these for MJ to get to you, factor time, testing and materials and this is the better deal. plus these don't put themselves together, MJ hand makes each one for you.

I love Marauders and my motivation for this is not money (I didn't want payment) or personal gain, but to help grow our hobby and help get Series 6 in production. I truly hope you guys enjoy them.

Factoid:
12 destro money stacks can fit nicely in a marauder case but if they were actually scale to GI JOE they would fit 18. hasbro made their money 33% to big, the bank is going to notice that. ;)
