Frost spells work nicely against that boss. I had 'cone of cold' for my mage at that point and that helped take her down quickly.

thanks for all the intel, as far as class wise for DA 2 I reccomend either the rogue or warrior, they're the easier of the three choices to play

Yeah that and the other cone spell work really well against nearly anyone.

I usually try to line up incoming foes with the Dog and my main character, then switch to the mage to run over and get them all in that line with both cones back to back. Usually that equals devastation.

Yeah, the mage has really good damage output, and if you are high enough level you can even go a bit into the healing tree too.

Also, if you are doing Orzammar but haven't done the Mage Tower, it may be beneficial to go back and do that just for the experience, Orzammar is a bit higher in difficulty than the Tower. I say that bc you said you only had Morrigan and not the other mage.
