Hello everyone. In recent years, we were given 6 packs at TRU/DTC. Now we are getting 5 pack battle packs. The battle packs in comparison lack one figure, but have a reuseable box, precut file cards, and a displayable electronic logo base. In my opinion the battle pack is superior, and both are the same price. Which do you prefer? Which format for multi-figure packs would you prefer to continue? Discuss!

I think personally the new battle packs will be better simply because of what you stated. For me, its the fact that, unlike the six-pack figures, when I remove the figures from the battle packs, I'm not tearing the package all to heck. I can't say the same about the six-packs.
I would hope though for future battle packs to have the figures in more 'neutral' positions so I don't feel like i'm going to break a limb off them trying to remove them from the package.

I went with the 6-pack. Sure you don't get a reusable box, logo base with sound, or pre-cut file cards but you have one more figure. That to me is more important. If they had used 6-packs in the first place Firefly and Flint probably would have been the sixth figure in their respective sets and would probably be original molds and not Beachhead and Duke repaints/remolds.

Battle packs rule, I can't wait to see what's ahead, who knows we may see updates of mutt, dusty, ripcord, recondo, and spirit, heck, maybe even quick-kick, the six packs were getting to be mainly repacked recolered ARAH stock (how many times did I see snowjob (not that I'd mind to see a new sculpt, but the one in the 6 packs were getting overused!

The BP boxes look nicer but he crazy positions the figs are in needs to stop (what the hell is Storm Shadow doing?).
So be it another fig or cool accessory/prop, I can dig both. I only hope Hasbro expands the BP accessory idea. The next BP looks to come with a Cobra emblem (the coolest thing about that BP really). It would be awesome if it played an excerpt from the GIJoe Movie theme. "Armies of the night, Evil taken flight... Cobra, COBRAAA, Cobra, COBRAAA!" Then maybe another accessory can be a throne for CC/Serpentor that plays the incidental Cobra instrumental (the music from the beginning of the movie also used in every episode). That would be great.

I like both...but if given a choice, I'll go with 6 packs. Not only is it one more figure, but the six pack packaging has to be less expensive to make than the battle pack boxes.

The crazy positions actually play a part in making the weapons harder to hold, and parts warping. I've suggested neutral poses in packaging with weapons placed seperate from the hands, so that weapons are able to be held more securely, and no parts are warped. The single pack figures hold their weapons better than the BP versions, because they are not packaged holding their weapons. Though I must admit, these are nowhere near as bad as VVV Snake Eyes from 2005, which had a great sculpt and awesome new weapons, but couldn't hold any of them securely. The next BP has neutral posing and it looks better.
The next BP does come with the cobra symbol and also plays the cobra theme song from the movie you mentioned.

got to go with the 6 pack as the 5 packs have so much unused room. you could get 6 in there no prob.

since so far the Battlepacks are cr@ppy cartoon repaints with "extras" that are completely disinteresting to me AND lack in having any new characters, i'm going to have to say "6 packs".
hopefully we'll get some new characters in the follow up packs.

6 packs, but I doubt we'll be seeing TRU sell anymore G.I. Joe figure packs with 6 figures, because now their selling them in assortments of 5. The battle packs seem unneccessary to me because they mostly consist of unique characters I really only need one of each anyway. Multi-packs of any kind I think should really be reserved for COBRA troop-builder figures, especially now since the new 25th COBRA troops of every kind fly off the shelves faster then the fans can blink.

I like both, but to choose one over the other, would depend on what the "theme" of the packs are. If it's just a troop builder pack, 6-packs work. If it's with a "build-a-something" theme, 5-pack and the accessory works too.

One feature I love about the boxed items is the die cut filecards. I've managed to trim some slose to that, but they still do not look as good.
I am also Suped about finally getting a Weather Dominator and MASS device.
Actually getting the DVD doesn't hurt either.
Seems like a win all around?

I voted neutral. It is hard to decide which would be better. This is a very tough question. I like the figures that i have gotten out of the 6 packs in the past but the 5 figure packs are so unique themselves. Like i said, very tough question...

As long as we are given something new, the ratio of figures to accessories does not concern me.

If each looks good I will buy them so I guess that makes me neutral.

the 6 packs will be unique because they will have other items that build on one another and the five packs will have plain revisions but i will still buy both when most likely the five battle packs will be re released in single cards again

I prefer BattlePacks. Though these are mainly repaints, five figures is the new number in packs. I just wish once and a while they would place a new character like the comic packs.

Battle packs as long as they straighten out the boxes. The goofy angled boxes make them a little more difficult to store. Whereas a nice box with 90 degree angles would store quite nicely.

I'm all for getting a Cobra throne, been trying to look for something to use as a throne for a while now.

I gotta go with 6 packs, can't beat the extra figure. Besides, that would make the figures only like $4 a piece if there were 6 in there.

I'm neutral here since I don't really mind either one.

I'm confused, when did they put out a 6 pack?
TRU had 5 packs, the Target UBP had 7 figures, sorry, but what am I missing?
Edit: Oh, my bad, you guys are talking about the 6 packs from the VvV days aren't you?
